Just got back from their concert.

Random, yes.
Gonna have to go with current favorites (as well as all time favorites) being Porcupine Tree and Opeth, with a smattering of BTBAM thrown in there
I'd still say Cake is my overall favorite band. Though there is always some one new to occupy my attention for a few weeks at a time.

Them Crooked Vultures...
1) WHAT DOES THE BAND SOUND LIKE? It sounds like the guy from Queens of the Stone Age singing and playing guitar with the bass player from Led Zeppelin and the drummer from Nirvana. Now that music is getting out there, this one is sort of unnecessary but still...
Enough said...

Insomnium. Got their first two albums a few days ago so I have their full discography.

Right now I really like Muse. United States of Eurasia from their latest album is awesome.

I literally listened Muse to death. Listened to them for ages and ages and ages and then suddenly stopped and I haven't listened to them for a long time. And when I do try and listen to them again I can't.
Right now, favourite bands are
Holy Fuck, Sufjan Stevens, St. Vincent, Eluvium and The Antlers.
Favourite songs from each of them would be
Holy Fuck - Stilettos

Sufjan Stevens - Futile Devices

St. Vincent - The Apocalypse Song

Eluvium - Leaves Eclipse The Light

The Antlers - Wake

I can't decide between all of them.
At the moment: Sleigh Bells.

Of all time: Los Campesinos!

Deerhunter
Their new album is too amazing

I'm going to have to go with Our Lady Peace for the band I'm currently listening to the most, specifically their masterpiece album Clumsy.

My all-time favourite band, hands down, is The Tea Party.

I think they have a unique and unmistakable sound and they're brilliant musicians. Jeff Martin, the singer, has an incredibly powerful voice that can sooth a baby to sleep, or scare the shit out of you. They mix eastern sound with western rock sensibilities into something that's unusual yet familiar. They've constantly reinvented themselves while still maintaining a core sound. The best part is that they're Canadian (as are Our Lady Peace) and originated from very close to where I live in Southern Ontario.
Their 1999 #1 chart topper:

Some other songs they're either known for or are just my favourites:

Does their music sound a little familiar but you can't quite pinpoint why? See that guy on the right of the photo? Well, he's resposible for the music in the Prince of Persia series of video games:

Unfortunately, these guys broke up in 2005, but Jeff Martin currently lives in Australia with his wife and performs solo, as well as with his new band The Armada.
Jeff Burrows, the drummer, can be found in the new Canadian super group called Crash Karma with Edwin from I Mother Earth fame on vocals, Mike Turner, the guitarist from Our Lady Peace, and Amir Epstein from Zygote on bass.

I fucking love these guys. I can't find my CD but it's one of the few CDs I picked up on a whim just because of who was associated with it and I don't regret it for a second. I can't wait for their next album.
