I've been diagnosed with it and mine is more of a wooshing or beeping sound at times. It might, shockingly, differ from person to person!
Mine is pretty much gone now though thank fuck. Shit's really annoying. I was diagnosed a few years ago when it was horribly loud at night while I was trying to sleep.
