If you quote this I will fucking murder you.
Why would you do a thing like that?
ima say what i want :D. but not right not
I've seen "could of" SO MANY TIMES now that I started to think that the english language had been changed.
and it's not even my first language.
I hate people who spam ex dees and other emoticons and capitalize evey word. Or who type xD at the end of their every sentence.
and this. Especially capitalizing every word. I want those people dead.

:ohdear:
I would like it if there was a mod who only moderated people for grammar crimes.
It's is a conjunction of "It is". Its is for everything else. That's how I remember it.
You only need 1-2 pages to figure this out.

Its ok brah. i think your cool.
I see all of you making this mistake. I am just surprised you haven't learned this when studying English.
That's interesting, I always write "it's" and I do not take such people seriously.
Grammar nazi AWAY!! :flashfact:
The mods really should make everyone download a spell checker and make bad spelling//grammar a bannable offence.
few years late there mate
I could care less about this :rolleye:
The cat ate its shit
The cat ate it's shit
The first one is correct, the second one is saying that "The cat ate it is shit", or "The cat ate. It's shit"
I see all of you making this mistake. I am just surprised you haven't learned this when studying English.
James reminded me of another one, the "could of" syndrome. It's incorrect to say "could of", but correct to say "could have". Could've is could have.
Okay so I know you are definitely correct, but would you/someone please explain to me whether an apostrophe can be used when something is possessive?
As in: "The cat ate it's shit" as in the cat ate shit that belonged to it?
Because I think I was taught at a young age that that was okay, but I still avoid doing it in case it gets mixed up.

Actually I just read the picture whoever posted above and it is definitely okay to say "The cat's shit was eaten". I still don't know about "The cat ate it's shit"
[editline]07:42PM[/editline]
Ah nevermind I read that thing a bit more. It's okay to say "The cat's shit was eaten" but definitely not okay to say "The cat ate it's shit"
