the hell kind of mouse do you have where it sounds like you have to smash the button to make it click
Sounds more like a space bar
I actually thought GTA IV was a good port aside from DRM bullshit. Had a lot of a featured and even a benchmarking tool. They've got RAGE by the balls now, it'll run great without a doubt
It doesn't matter what you thought, gta iv was OBJECTIVELY a bad port. At that time even a top of the line gpu struggled to run the game on max with a stable frame rate and there was virtually no optimization at all.
Since apparently he has texture settings on High, can somebody go check if that grass/sidewalk/road texture is the same quality as the console version? Also, shouldn't there be a "Vehicle Density" setting like in IV?

Whether it's a good port isn't necessarily defined 100% on optimization.
Plus in the options menu there is Directx, it should be DirectX
when he presses start, the "Apply Settings" and "Back" options are already there
that doesn't mean anything though, sure in the last game that option did not appear until a change was made, but plenty of games always have those options on screen, back just would obviously go back to the main menu, and the save option could just not do anything until an actual change is made. It seems that the changes are made as you make them as well. [editline]13th January 2014[/editline]
Overall it wasn't really a bad port, it was just really badly optimized. Whether it's a good port isn't necessarily defined 100% on optimization.
Yes but if there was virtually no optimization at all and the game required serious hardware to run at max or even on somewhat high, that's a bad port. The hardware could easily handle the graphics, but the game had no idea how to convey that to the hardware which resulted in the game eating up all your resources and wasting almost all of them.
Would probably say it's real, but mouse movement looks fake. So yeah, fake.

Just looks like some dude got in the game files and added a bunch of bullshit options and sliders to the option menu that don't do anything, why else would he be clearly using a controller and record the TV at potato quality
Plus in the options menu there is Directx, it should be DirectX
Should be, but there are always typos in things.
I'm optimistic as much as the next guy, but I seriously hope the port is not this soon. I want them to fix a lot, and optimize the game so it plays smoothly. I want them to iron out the single player, and take hints from the community from the console version, and make it a better, stronger experience specially toward Multiplayer. I hope they make it moddable as well. Having big ass sharks, or random events when deep sea diving would scare the ever living shit out of me and some people.
Also, flying a chopper in GTA4 with a keyboard and mouse was near impossible. At least for me.
Numpad man, seriously numpad made it so easy.
It's pretty obvious it's fake. As soon as he pauses the Apply Settings and the Back buttons are in the bottom corner the entire time before he gets to the graphics options.
Directx version DX 11, yeah it doesn't work that way mate.
GTA 4 was perhaps the worst running port ever, but mostly for people with dual cores, which was common at the time.
Heh, I tried running it with my Pentium 4. It didn't work very well.
Directx version DX 11, yeah it doesn't work that way mate.
What do you mean? There are a few games that offer ingame options for dx options, like source engine games, far cry 2/3. You have to restart the game for it to change renderer but you can still change it in game.
I think he was referring to the fact the option say "DirectX version: DX11", instead of just "DirectX version: 11"
My point still stands, farcry 2 did it like that.
If this was real, I'm sure Rockstar would have taken it down by now.
A lot of people who play gta iv on pc use controllers, really a controller is much more adept for a game like this for most of the mechanics like driving.
He should use a keyboard and mouse for this though, if you are demonstrating a leak for a PC game you should at the very least use the PC controls to show it off, give us the keybindings in options
He should use a keyboard and mouse for this though, if you are demonstrating a leak for a PC game you should at the very least use the PC controls to show it off, give us the keybindings in options
what if its not that far in development
Also, flying a chopper in GTA4 with a keyboard and mouse was near impossible. At least for me.
Doing anything in GTA IV with a KB+M felt really weird, as soon as i put an Xbox 360 controller in it felt so much better

It would stutter so much the game would become completely unplayable at moments, even on high end machines. [editline]14th January 2014[/editline]
If this was real, I'm sure Rockstar would have taken it down by now.
They would prove the point even further by doing that- terrible idea.
They would prove the point even further by doing that- terrible idea.
Lol what point?
obviously not the pc version, it didnt crash neither explode after 5 seconds
Do the settings actually change after he applies them? I was flipping through the video looking at the ground textures seeing if they were different but its hard to tell with this shit quality
