around 5893 words. Once you break through the first 2-3 pages. It just starts flowing. Now over 6000. I write in a unorthodox way. Since i have the story planned out, i just jump from chapters or certain parts of the story if i get stuck on certain places. Keeps the word count flowing and stops myself from stagnating.
Fallen behind, have a lot of work and I'm getting sick :toot: Time to get my ass moving eh
Managed to write over 5600 words in three days. Various things, but mostly short stories. I'm doing a lot better than i expected.
I'm writing about 2k words a day (I plan to keep it steady and consistent) with the extra time at the weekends reserved to editing it and planning out other stuff. I'll probably then release it in segments or the whole thing for people to read if they're interested in it.
I myself have fallen behind a bit, merely 3329 words written down, but that's mainly because I'm in my current work cycle, which cuts several hours out of my potential writing time. But I'll be able to catch up a fair bit this afternoon, I'm certain of it.

9,048 words as of now, I was left at a pretty interesting part, but I leave Cold Turkey to dictate when I should take a break.
You really shouldn't worry about editing.
Yeah, the purpose of all of this is to get the rough draft that can be polished later. It's also good to know exactly how the story goes before going back to it, allows you to add some neat foreshadowing.
Between work and a really short notice trip to a concert I am way behind on my writing (and by way behind I mean I have one empty text document to catch up with, three days in to this whole affair.) Wish me luck!
I've gotten into the habit of writing around 2200 to 0000 mainly because of work itself.
I change position too much. It's hard for me to maintain a narrative perspective continually. I like to either jump characters, or jump to an omniscient narrator. I've gotta get away from that. Any tips
You really shouldn't worry about editing.
why not? if i have the time spare and i hit my target i see no reason not to
Only got 400 words so far today. Looks like I'll be up until 4am.
why not? if i have the time spare and i hit my target i see no reason not to
The idea is that you can spend that time writing even more.
why not? if i have the time spare and i hit my target i see no reason not to
You're not supposed to go and change anything until you've finished your manuscript. I mean you can if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it. You should just write your first draft all the way through without going back and changing anything. Then I'd recommend setting aside your finished manuscript for at least a month (maybe two or three) after finishing it, before going back and touching it up. This is so that when you go back to it you'll see it with fresh eyes and it will look like it was written by someone else, and make it easier to touch up. Pretty much the advice of every writing teacher I've had has given me.

10,976 words as of today, that means that I broke 10.000 word limit. It's so satisfying to see the remaining word count to be in 30 thousands [editline]4th November 2016[/editline]
I change position too much. Of course, you should write as you feel like, I'm not in a position to give much advice, as this is my first book.
As was done in previous years, I plan on writing roughly 3k words a day on weekends, as I have more time to myself. Novel is going along swimmingly.
i thought this was an anime

By day 4, I've got around 5325 words. Definitely need to step it up a little, but the weekend will certainly help me get above-par. And of course I have 2 hours before I gotta get ready for work. So I'll at least make par for today.
Good thing I don't have a Toxx (...that I know of) on my name because I can't even force myself to write it. It's not even a distraction issue, I have zero motivation to sit down and start writing off how the story goes. How do you guys overcome that?

Do not care if what you are typing or writing is good or not, just get as many words on the paper as possible. Only care about fixing everything once you are done.

7,000. Jesus christ its going to be a nightmare editing this novel.

There you go. Or to put it another way, just start writing literally anything.
The urge to rewrite the opening of the novel since you've now come up with a fantastic way to hit all your points you wanted to make in a rad opening but you CAN'T. Aaaaaaaaaaaa.

So just do the thing that you want to be in the mood to do rather than the thing you are in the mood to do. Just force yourself to do it. At least that shit works for me I don't know if it'll work for you.
