What if someone is open about the fact that children attract him, but that he would never hurt a child psychologically or physically by raping them. According to your guidelines, he would feel terrible because of the stigma put on pedophilia, but this person should know that while it's not the norm, there's nothing wrong with thinking that way, it only means you need more self control than most people.

Pedophiles are fine. They're attracted to children, they have no control over what they're attracted to. But they do have control over what they do.
Child predators are not fine. They have no control over what they are attracted to. But they choose to act incorrectly about the whole situation.
There's actually a swedish blog that's got some attention in the media. It's a blog written by a pedophile that works at a preschool. He goes out publicly with his name and everything and openly admits to liking children. But he thinks any kind of rape is wrong and chooses not to. That's the difference between a pedophile and a child rapist.

I really think the hatred against pedophiles, gays or any sexual preference is idiotic. I mean, they can't change it, it doesn't make any difference in your life, and it's NONE of your fucking business. If someone wants to rape carpets at night, why the fuck would you care? As long as they don't harm anyone else, it's their personal right to do it.

I feel bad for pedophiles, if you go to prison for a pedophilia related crime, such as being in possession of Child Pornography or something similar, nothing too serious like rape, you're looking at a serious beating and a hard time overall. Whereas people who have committed worse crimes don't get much trouble.
It annoys me that today, people have such an unwarranted hate for pedophiles, pedophilia is like the modern day equivalent of witchcraft to many people. I've heard anecdotes of people believed to be pedophiles, being violently attacked by gangs of people, even though they have yet to actually do anything other than confess their feelings. What is this I don't even.

I don't think that pedophilia should be illegal. I think illegalizing a sexual preference is an ignorant and heavy handed thing to do. If child abuse ever becomes a factor, then it's criminal. But to illegalize a sexual attraction and demonize anyone who has it as a soulless monster who does nothing but destroys lives is ignorant and bigoted.
