• What Gender Are You?

I think it says a lot about the state of comedy that this forum genuinely can't tell if this is real or not. For the last few decades comedy - especially political comedy - has primarily been the Left making fun of the Right. When someone from the Right makes comedy, people seem to have problems believing it's real.
why did you just compare someone being called a guy in a dress to PTSD? my logic is nowhere near equivalent to that i'm talking about the words 'guy in a dress' in particular; society sucks ass, if you do what you want to do you need to be prepared for criticism and judgement, you can't cry about every little bump in the road, especially when it comes to making transgender people widely accepted i'm all for people doing whatever they want to do without judgement, but you can't say the same for everyone, so making blog posts and videos about how opressed you are and broadcasting it to people like me but at the same time to people who aren't as open-minded (or like in one of the videos posted here, someone who is focused on legitimately harmful things like being forced to watch as islamists slaughter their beloved husband and children, and then being sold into sexual slavery) really isn't working yeah transgender people go through a lot, but so do most people
Yeah, we know society sucks. That's why we're saying to people: "Hey, you probably shouldn't say this because it's quite rude." You might ask why bother, since obviously the only people who say those things are people who wouldn't care how rude it is, but people with open minds and good intentions do make mistakes as well. I don't want to find things offensive, I don't go out and go 'Hmm, let's cause a ruckus today', but if you tell people "Please don't say this", then the only people remaining who say it will be arseholes. Gender dysphoria is something that makes you feel incredibly uncomfortable, and whilst I understand that 100% of the population will not magically accept trans people just because you've told them some stuff not to say or laugh at, there is a reason why the suicide rate amongst them is considerably higher than the average population.
"OK class, no-one's allowed to make fun of Adrian."
man this thread shows exactly who has gender isseus
"OK class, no-one's allowed to make fun of Adrian."
"No one's allowed to make fun of Adrian for being born a girl. You're free to make fun of him for other things, like how he eats his boogers. Seriously Adrian, cut that out."
Translation: You're only allowed to make fun of straight white dudes!
Problem here is that he's doing this to try and convince the viewer or make his viewpoint make sense. If it was the same thing, like some black guy going off about how white people are the devil and so on and actually proposing that white people be fucked over or their plights ignored or what have you, but just in a comedic tone, it wouldn't be any better. And I'd bet you and everyone else would even be offended by it. So don't play that bullshit. This guy is a transphobic, islamaphobic, politically ignorant run of the mill "conservative" and the fact that his message is wrapped up in a few (admittedly funny) zingers and comedy shticks doesn't change that.

But when you tell me "Please don't say this", I may be slightly perturbed; You're telling me to alter my behavior (which I feel is normal and non-offensive, even though it may be offensive to you) just because you're offended. And most likely, I'll keep saying the offensive thing once you leave, because when I talk to others, they'll probably be saying the offensive thing since that's what I and they find normal.

On topic, I didn't find the videos all that funny. The second video was a little preachy, the first one was just boring.
If you can't handle South Park -you- have officially made it full circle to 'conservative mom' status.
Gender identity is a very real thing, as any sociologist will tell you.
"Sociologist" sounds like a bullshit position to me. If it were a Biologist or even a Psychologist I'd believe it more easily but Sociologist sounds like something someone from Tumblr would make up in an argument.
If you can't handle South Park -you- have officially made it full circle to 'conservative mom' status.
"If you don't like the same things I like you're a conservative mom"
Wait wait wait. You get angry at the above poster about the conservative quip. BUUUUUUT, you don't think sociology, a long existing field, doesn't exist.
"Sociologist" sounds like a bullshit position to me.
As an academic discipline sociology has existed for over 100 years. It has existed as a science longer than academic psychology (which, by the way, still suffers from problems dealing with on-empirical evidence and is often criticized as a still-forming discipline). The actual practice of sociology has existed for longer than the scientific method.
Wait wait wait. You get angry at the above poster about the conservative quip.
Show me the part of my post that reads "sociology doesn't exist", then explain to me what that has to do with conservatism, and then we'll talk.

"Sociologist" sounds like a bullshit position to me[1].
"Sociologist" sounds like a bullshit position to me.
Literally, you called the core position of sociology which is a position someone gets as soon as they get their diploma.
By "bullshit position" I meant that the words of a Sociologist are hardly believable to me. Also, I said the word "Sociologist" sounded like something someone could make up in a hypothetical situation, not that it was made up. But whatever you guys are just gonna keep twisting my words and putting new ones in my mouth, not to mention ignoring my questions (again, what does not believing in the words of a sociologist have to do with being conservative?) so I'll just get out this little circlejerk of yours until you feel like having a civil argument.
god forbid we can't make jokes about a vulnerable minority that really doesn't need help in being stigmatized further
Because humor stigmatizes people and never helps us deal with difficult topics.
Did you really just build an argument on the fact that you're too lazy to go to Wikipedia and find out that Sociology is a real thing?
If you can't handle South Park -you- have officially made it full circle to 'conservative mom' status.
tbf south park kinda champions the views of 90% of this website with the whole "i am having an aneurism b/c of this political correctness" thing that crops up sometimes? and i mean considering most of the people here are emotionally stunted 17 year-olds and matt stone and trey parker are both like forty-somethings that's maybe not a point in the show's favor [editline]12th October[/editline] i mean of course they make valid observations sometimes but tbqh for the generation of asocial teenagers who post thunderf00t videos on gaming forums south park is pretty much their sacred cow [editline]12th October[/editline] ugh this political correctness, ugh why don't people listen to pink floyd anymore, ugh this vacuous facebook post about shoes makes me want to deck someone because i'm totally strong enough to do that, ugh why isn't anyone else this socially observant

South Park can be funny, but if you actually take it seriously as some kind of intellectual or moral authority rather than guys making fart jokes, then you have problems. To be specific, the problem of being a fucking idiot.
And I don't want to offend others. Do you really think shouting out "Ad Hominen" all the time makes your arguments airtight? lol
You don't have the slightest clue of what an Ad Hominem is do you?

Also, the issue isn't South Park, its that people only rely on one source of information and to be quite frank, most Facepunchers are guilty of this. I've been guilty of it. You've probably been guilty of it.
We're literally telling you not to be as much of an asshole. God how DARE us!!!
If somebody tells me to stop saying something he/she finds offensive, I'll stop saying it, especially if it's a friend. It doesn't mean I agree with it. I just find it weird that if I were to continue saying it, I'd be labeled an asshole for doing what I normally do and have done for all my life. Sure, it may not sound like you're asking much from us, but some of us will find it hard to adjust to the changes in society. Old habits die hard.
When someone from the Right makes comedy, people seem to have problems believing it's real.
Yeah but it's hard to blame us, it's very uncommon for pigs to be flying through a frozen hell under a blue moon. Usually when the right tries making jokes it's indistinguishable from the times they aren't making jokes.
