Pirating will exist. Digital Information will exchange hands as long as the internet exists, and the internet isn't going anywhere. Stop invading your legit customer's space and just put out worthy-of-purchase software
One way to ensure you make better sales and have less pirating is stop creating 3 and 4 Day one DLC to be released the same day your game is released. Include that shit with the game... Why pay the standard price for an incomplete game and then more money for the rest of it
i haven't bought music in a long time
All this means is that pirates have to step up their game a bit. It won't stop them. It will only slightly inconvenience them for a few minutes before they find a way to get past it.
i only buy records
If this is affecting EU, America and Singapore then I'm safe in Norway. :c00lbert:
"...officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe..."
YOU ARE NOT SAFE :smith:
I only pirate movies, music and old/shitty games
Essential games worth getting way or another (:tinfoil:) before this rule comes into action. Start listing.
GTA San Andreas.
The only people who should get caught for downloading/uploading, are the fucking sickos who download CP.
I don't live in any of those countries either.
:science:
I got all my music on Spotify and my games used from Gamestop. :smug:
I hope you guys enjoyed the pirating while it lasted, because it seems soon enough this is all going to come to an end. :sigh:
It doesn't mention downloaded content, only counterfeit goods like those cheap DVDs you get from China and stuff like that.
As long as people don't distribute/sell what they pirate, they should be fine for now.
Also, for those who say they never pirated anything, I bet you have at least a piece of software in your computer that isn't legal.
The only thing i pirate are virginity's..
what the hell, i swear that all the presidents children download shit, even obama. but i bet theres some catch so they can continue anyway.
Pirating won´t be stopped.
Valve has done a fantastic job on anti-pirating by essentially not really doing much, but nevertheless it will still be there. But I have no intention of pirating a Valve game. Ever.
Also, I know the UK is in Europe, but will we be affected as well?
I think this is more for cracking down people who resell pirated copies and make money off of it. You guys probably remember the "russian half life 2" release after the leak. And you probably have heard of fake windows/office cds.
See this for what I mean: http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/content.aspx?displaylang=en&pg=counterfeit
Fuck this I'm gonna go back to recording software off the radio

UK is in the EU, so yes.
I only download things that I want to try before I buy, like if there's no demo for a game, I download it, if it's good, I delete it then buy it. I download a lot of music too because most of the time the albums aren't worth buying. The only albums I've bought are the 4 Breaking Benjamin albums, I deleted the others off my harddrive because... well.... they were shit.

the only thing you pirate is unfunny jokes
Well, I'll have to take that under consideration
[sp]above comment is a lie[/sp]

:ohdear:
This doesn't affect me in any possible way.
Yep, Piracy is killing the gaming industry as we know it!

Won't happen in Norway.
The government and ISPs over there never share information, apparently.

An interesting article, people are still going to say piracy is bad even though they know nothing about it.
That really makes me angry when people rant about stuff when they no nothing about it.

I really haven't liked any of the valve games as of yet.
Except maybe portal, The puzzles were far to easy for my liking.

:ninja: Nobody can stop my constant download of Linux Distros :ninja:
It's an ass-backwards fucking law that has been shaped and lobbied by corporations afraid of change. "Oh, so you don't want our overpriced, shitty movies anymore. Well, we'll just legislate to make you buy them anyway suckers!"
I just love how Brazil doesn't give a fuck about what it's citizens may be doing with their access to the internet :science:.
No more linux distros?
:saddowns:

What is this linux distros you speak of?
Everyone keeps saying it and I have no idea.
