I don't live in any of those countries. BOOYA LOSERS (Disclaimer: This doesn't mean I ever torrented anything, I'm just making an innocent joke. You mod guys are cool with that right? :3: )
Lolo this won't change shit, it's not like it wasn't illegal before they dreamt up ACTA
Because this one means the US and EU governments can be in every nook and cranny they can think of. Even your ISP
Again, this doesn't mean anything, with the right documents they could get in there anyway, this just makes it easier Scare tactics :effort: [editline]fucking[/editline] Automerge! :argh:
So big brother is watching us, whats new? I honestly don't think this changes anything, this probably wont even go into effect/ stay in effect long because it breaks piracy so much. There is only one way to stop piracy, and thats shut down the internet, which isn't possible.
Didn't I mention the government will be inside your ISP now? Which they have had no right into until now. ISPs don't even have the right to log your information for manual reference.
Didn't I mention the government will be inside your ISP now? Which they have had no right into until now. ISPs don't even have the right to log your information for manual reference.
Did I mention that because of this, it probably wont stay in effect long? or even get passed at all? Seriously, this is a HUGE privacy breach, its not like most citizens just lay down and take that, besides when the millions of false positives start showing up, you'll see some pissed off parents/people. I'm not saying there's going to be a riot, i'm just saying this will be fought.
Is this a U.S.bill? Because doesn't it have to go through the Supreme Court to get passed as unconstitutional or not?
this just makes it easier
I'm fully aware of the existence of search warrants, but seriously if your a government investigator trying to bust someone on the internet whats your chances of getting a search warrant now? Now they can be anywhere they want to, 24/7.
so someone mind telling me what was going on?
Well, all the music i have is illegal and thats plus 900 songs :( No more new music for me. (User was banned for this post ("Warez" - birkett))
So what is this doing? Allowing the government to watch you more? Tracking visitors to certain sites? I can't make sense of the OP it's all :words: to me. It's not like the FBI/CIA/NSA are gonna come and knock down the door of every person who steals an MP3. It's gonna be one of those laws that will never be enforced. It actually already pretty much is a law that's never enforced.

If they can do this what's next?
ACTA can have fun bringing 500 million people into court over a 10mb media file.
I do see this going down without further government intervention, but what if they do? If they can do this what's next?
If this does pass then MANY citizens will fight it, not to mention ALOT of fucking free rights groups and shit. [editline]09:09PM[/editline]
ACTA can have fun bringing 500 million people into court over a 10mb media file.
Exactly, and 250 of those will be false-postivies

This is about going after uploaders.
I hope you guys enjoyed the pirating while it lasted, because it seems soon enough this is all going to come to an end. :sigh:
Yeah, right.
:roflolmao: Like that will happen.
This. It's not like the government is going to go out and arrest everyone who downloads an mp3, movie, or game. This is about going after uploaders.
I'm going to guess any good, reliable unloader is fairly educated on how to avoid the law. :colbert:

I give it at least a month still.
Oh no, multi-billion dollar corporations are losing out on some money from their overpriced shit. If I ever pirated something, it would have been because I wasn't ever going to buy it. There-for, they aren't missing out on money from people like me. Don't want people to pirate your software/media? Don't overcharge for it then! Also, this government bullshit is getting ridiculous... Everytime I blink they are doing something more sneaky than the last thing they did. They are here to manage our country's imports and exports, keep people from abusing each other, and keep our cities in good condition. Fuck off with everything else, stop butting in where not needed, and stop charging me more money in taxes than I can afford on one pay cheque. Fucking greedy pricks.
This. It's not like the government is going to go out and arrest everyone who downloads an mp3, movie, or game. This is about going after uploaders.
Well seeing as a lot of pirates don't contribute anything it looks like they're still safe.
/sigh there goes every program on my computer. Lol weird just last week i helped a sergeant major in the marines cause he didn't know how to open ISO files he downloaded from torrent sites. (User was banned for this post ("Warez" - birkett))

Plus like it's been said before, use a secure release platform like i-tunes or steam instead of youtube and others.
I actually blame the companies and the people. The companies need to lower their prices and the people need to save their fucking money. Plus, this will probably never get past, pirating has been around for years and this will probably not change a damn thing. [editline]10:16PM[/editline] I think South Park proved it best when they did the episode about pirating music.
Didn't I mention the government will be inside your ISP now? Which they have had no right into until now. ISPs don't even have the right to log your information for manual reference.
brb, finding out how to become an independent ISP.
Fucking greedy pricks.
Power to the people brother. I can be Robin-hood and you can be brother John or something and we will storm music-haven and steal professor Strewdle's wingwams! And give them to poor people who don't want any wingwams anyway but will take them :D
I like how everyone just comes out and says they are pirating in this thread like it wont get them banned.
I like how everyone just comes out and says they are pirating in this thread like it wont get them banned.
Nobodys said anything. I only take and give out linux distros.
the companies need to lower their prices and the people need to save their fucking money.
THIS. SO much.
brb, finding out how to become an independent ISP.
It won't matter, a search warrant is a search warrant.
