you can't compare music to cars, that's some terrible logic right there
You can't even compare stealing a real object to pirating. "store doesnt have object, I better steal it" From where?
Have you ever borrowed a book from the library? You're a DIRTY PIRATE!
You see? THIS is terrible logic. In fact it may very well be the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life.
Obtaining information without the author getting anything in return! You're right lets arrest all the people at libraries! haha careful though, don't want to get ACTA any ideas...
Actually authors do have to give libraries permission to distribute books. But its not a whole ceremony or contract deal for each one, it's a thing in the ISBN number I believe.
Actually, no, it's not terrible logic. Stop feeling like you are entitled to something because guess what: you're not. This companies spend MONEY to make the products, employees need to get PAID. And how the fuck do you think they get the money back? Not from petty thieves such as 90% of the people in this thread.
So you never buy secondhand?
#1 Question - Will the rest of the world be affected?
You see? THIS is terrible logic. In fact it may very well be the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life.
Why? You're reading something you didn't pay for.
#1 Question - Will the rest of the world be affected?
#1 answer, no. #2 answer, still no.
So you never buy secondhand?
he's just one of those guys that has to stand out from everyone else and argue.
I was just trying to bring back the fact that the Pirate Bay has been 'shut down' countless times.
No intelligent pirate will ever be worried by this
he's just one of those guys that has to stand out from everyone else and argue.
No, I'm just not a self-entitled teen who thinks that I can get whatever I want for free.
uh oh the local car dealer doesnt have the car I want better steal it
Because a car is ones and zeros. :downs:
you wouldn't download a
No, I'm just not a self-entitled teen who thinks that I can get whatever I want for free.
We don't though think we're entitled to shit. Do you think you're entitled to read books for free? Or buy second hand? If you have SUCH a problem with using things without money getting to the creators, then do you oppose those things too?
wait
Because a car is ones and zeros. :downs:
i may be saying something really freaking stupid here but since when is music binary
steal a car, there. [editline]09:03PM[/editline] Fucking double break
i may be saying something really freaking stupid here but since when is music binary
since it started being distributed on CDs.
i may be saying something really freaking stupid here but since when is music binary
ever since it's been compatible with a computer
Also guys, I don't think you understand the developer/publisher relationship. Allow me to explain: 1. Developer does it's job. 2. Developer registers with library of congress or another copyright organization. 3. Developer seeks out publisher 4. Developer sells or requests royalty for publisher to sell their product(Invention, movie, music, games, etc) 5. Publisher acquires selling rights, goes about their buiseness. So bottom line is that the developer always gets their money, it's the publisher that claims cash from us in this instance.
since it started being distributed on CDs.
ok thanks [editline]11:05PM[/editline]
ever since it's been compatible with a computer
you too :h:
We don't though think we're entitled to shit. Do you think you're entitled to read books for free? Or buy second hand? If you have SUCH a problem with using things without money getting to the creators, then do you oppose those things too?
I don't buy things second hand because I personally like my things new. Also, there's a difference in purchasing a product and then selling it to someone else (ONE OTHER PERSON) so that seller can no longer use it. And yes, I am fully entitled to read books for free because libraries have full permission to use the books. Stop using such a mind-blowing and stupid argument.
I only got mad at one person I saw, who was watching Shutter Island on a bus a week after it debuted on her laptop. Although she screamed out loud when [sp]Andrew shoots the warden, but it is revealed the gunfire is imagined[/sp], so that made everything funnier and I really didn't care.
permission to use the books
permission from whom
Also guys, I don't think you understand the developer/publisher relationship. Allow me to explain: 1. Developer does it's job. 2. No developer just goes ahead and starts spending money making something that they're not sure they can sell. They can't, and if they could, they wouldn't without a contract.
permission from whom
The author.
The author.
do libraries call the author every time someone checks out a book
permission from whom
Educate yourself.
