I'd love to have parents like this, honestly. They're definitely the types who would be there for you whenever you needed help, and would always be ready to give you direction, something my parents never could seem to do. Since I haven't seen my mom since I was like 5 because she went to prison for possession of heroin and a bunch of other stuff, and my dad is an alcoholic who is in and out of prison, I have to live with my grandmother. I did live with my grandpa and her, but spousal abuse got too rough and we had to leave.
Having parents like these would be awesome, but I guess you can't really appreciate something like parents unless you never had them. I'd be honored to even be considered worthy of eating a meal with these people, I've never actually sat down at a table and did that. I'd hug the shit out of them.

How bout, they just don't give up.
I've seen stricter.
But then again they must be extremely strict off-camera because I don't know how anyone could raise a child that has that level of excellence.

I think they must have picked the LEAST strict parents in Singapore or something because they didn't seem that bad for parents that live in a country where you're killed just for possessing drugs.
These parents don't seem especially strict, but there are many parents, perhaps more so in Asian cultures, that push their children into things against their will. Whether it's learning piano, or being forced to study advanced math or science, it's just not right. But something does seem a bit odd about the mom saying 'authoritative parenting'.
I wish my parents were asian.

They didn't come off as extremely strict, although I'm glad my parents aren't like that, because it looks like those girls have been forced into doing what their parents want them to. No fun allowed.
