HAHHA! I was listening to "Take No Prisoners" by Megadeth and that dancing guy matched it perfectly.
That "dancing guy" is Ian Curtis...
And well... Epilepsy isn't funny at all. I've got a friend with it, and well... It's a hard condition for said individual. She is practically "cured" though... No more seizures, thanks to the meds and all. She can even get a driver's license! So... All hope is not lost if you have Epilepsy.

Ian Curtis could dance
Sounds like Epilepsy. Thats almost exactly how my first seizure happened. My advice is to check in with your neurologist.

Dude I'm epileptic, thats not funny.
Does your epilepsy somehow involve brain damage? Because it takes common sense to know that if you quote something, it's going to show up in your POST. This post is evidence.

And also, I'm not being a dick about Epilepsy, I used to take care of a kid with Epilepsy. He liked trains a lot.

I've seen him have several seizures, really really creepy.
You're probably gonna have to go through these steps:
[Getting a CAT scan]
they pretty much roll your head into a small tube like thing and take images of your brain, probably already done in hospital.
[Being reffered to a neuroligist]
They will direct you on how you can help your epilepsy.
[Being put on Meds]
They usually help. I am on Epilim, they have controlled my seizures.
[Have a ECG (or EEG, i forget)]
they pretty much spend 30mins + gluing wires to your head and watching a monitor.
[Overnight ECG]
They do the same thing, but you have a Fannypack computer thing with you overnight, really hard to sleep in.
[MRI - Magnetic Resource Imaging]
I have had 2 of these. One in 2003 and one at the start of 2010. They pretty much roll you into a tube that covers the top half of your body. In 2003 when i had mine, the machine was fucking huge, now at this time, they are smaller. It gets pretty noisy :). Sometimes they need to inject dye into you so they can get a clearer picture. its a pretty simple test that takes up to 25 minutes.
Well this is what i've gone through the last 10 years, i have been off my meds but it becomes reccuring. I get some odd seizures, i black out and start questioning things like "Where am i" and stuff.
They might also do a test where they get you to look at flashing lights, to see if its a motion sensitive case, i think i did this, i cant remember.
As far as getting your licence goes, you pretty much need a note from your doctor.
I really am greatful that i dont have a serious case of epilepsy, but <3s to all of the people suffering out there.
My brother has epilepsy, he takes meds daily but he still has them. They've been trying to find the right dosage for about a year now. They happen around once a month.
It is horrible to witness the first few times, cause you have no idea what you're supposed to do, you're trying to remember what little you know about seizures, recovery position and whatnot. Once you've been through it a couple of times you'll know what to do and it's a little easier to deal with.
Still, watching your brother slowly turn blue, shaking like crazy, with his eyes rolled back.. It's never pretty :(
Dude I'm sorry...I hope your fine.
Also, my first dog died from epilepsy...so sad.
I bet you don't like my avatar, OP
Hey guys what's going on in this thread
What movie you going to see?
If it's Avatar in 3D he's fucked.
Holy fuck. Everyone on Facepunch DOES have epilepsy. Me included.
Let me add what I know to the compendium of Knowledge cropping up here.
You might not have epilepsy it might have been a one off brainfart, but it is possible. Late puberty is a hot spot for developing Epilepsy. The general rule is if you get it when you're young it goes away at puberty. If you get it at puberty, you probably have it for life.
They'll do a lot of tests, but regardless of wether you're diagnosed or not, if it's anything like the UK some things will change for you.
These are UK RULES, shit might be different where you are. Read up.
You won't be allowed to hold a drivers license for 2 years.
You can never join the police, fire dept etc.
You can never join the armed forces
You can never hold a HGV license.
Not exactly life changing. Good to know all the same
I remember back in elementary school we were walking with a friend who had diabetes and were talking about his condition and all the things that could happen. He explained how if he doesn't keep his blood sugar and those things under control he could have a seizure and die. Just after that he fell over and started convulsing and shaking around on the ground. We thought it was a pretty good impression.
:ohdear:
Well, something like that happened to my cousin, he has diabetes and didn't eat enough or something, for that day, he passed out I think and everyone was scared about what could happen next. Everything became more scary when my sister told me there was actually a chance for him to die because of his sugar levels or something.
It's scary, because none of us had seen something like that before.
Everything ended well though, but now he keeps faking it in front of me :(
So wait what caused the seizure? I NEED CONCLUSION ON THIS STORY!

My doctor is supposed to call later after some tests, but he said I don't have epilepsy and I should be ok playing games and watching movies.

Ok, that's definitely a good thing.
It could just be down to a deficiency or overdose of a vitamin, something like potassium or iron..

Look under causes. If you had a large amount of salt for some reason then that could be a cause (sodium).
Or loads of soft drinks (glucose).
Dude you can't die from seizures.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SUDEP
Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy, or SUDEP is a term used when a person with epilepsy suddenly dies, and the reason for the death results from unexplained respiratory failure or cardiac arrest after seizures. SUDEP is sometimes referred to as "Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy", as the cause of SUDEP is unknown. Post mortem examination usually reveals no abnormalities in victims. Of those who die from SUDEP, it is most common in people who have generalised tonic-clonic seizures, especially in young adults age 20-50. The average age of those dying from SUDEP is estimated to be between 28–35 years, and SUDEP very rarely occurs in children. The most important 'risk factors' seem to be poor seizure control, and seizures occurring during sleep.
Research has estimated that approximately 50,000 people die each year from status epilecticus (prolonged seizures), SUDEP, and other seizure-related causes. SUDEP accounts for 8-17% of deaths in people with epilepsy. Roughly 1 in 100 sufferers of severe epilepsy die of SUDEP every year. For sufferers of mild idiopathic epilepsy (epilepsy of unknown cause), the figure drops to 1 in 1,000 per year.
i dont have epilepsy but i know it would suck
Stop getting high?
Those who rate this man bad reading are bad readers themselves. Oh the irony.
That sucks man. I have epilepsy myself, so I know how it feels.
One time I was in a chinese resturaunt with a big glass front, and a chav walked past, with a bottle of beer, he threw it on the floor and then he just dropped and had a seizure, it was really weird, it looked so unnatural. I felt a bit sorry for him but then I remembered he was just a dirty chav, but then I again remembered that they were people too, so I felt sorry again

It's all fun and games till someone who actually has epilepsy sees that and has a seizure

That is exactly what happened except i went to the hospital before making the thread.
I have a question for you guys. I am not sure if this was a seizure or not. Me and 2 of my brothers went to go see the Fourth Kind back in November sometime. It was a good movie. Anyways, we were just sitting there, and it was a perfectly calm moment, and out of the blue, this lady randomly starts screaming so freakin' loud. Everybody jumped when they heard it and the family was all gathered around her calling for help. She wouldn't stop screaming. Me and my bros looked at eachother with our eyes as wide as an owls.
3 people called 911 and the ambulances got there like 10 minutes later. We were all evacuated and everybody was sitting there talking about it in the hallway. I went around and asked people if it was a seizure. Nobody knew what happened.
Do you guys think it was a seizure?
I had one a few years ago, It was a simple partial seizure (not as dangerous) , happened while I was watching the over 9000 video (I kid you not)
I went unconscious while sitting there, then I had some type of extreme deja vu of every dream I have ever had flash before my eyes, lasted for what I think was a few seconds, came to and just puked all over.
It was so horrible, it happened again 30 minutes latter
but that time I didn't throw up but my tongue was bleeding.
Stop watching pokemon
stop watching gay porn.
When I was about 3 I had a seizure and it turned out they couldn't figure out what caused it. I haven't had another since so I didn't have to have any medicine or anything afterwards.
I hope this is just an isolated incident for you also.
Make sure to not drive a car or operate heavy machinery.
