I have Epilepsy and have grand mals in my sleep and tons of simple partials during the day. I know it sucks having your first seizure, but it's very manageable. They're going to have you do an EEG and probably an MRI and then they'll get you on some meds if it's Epilepsy. I was actually just recently diagnosed but have been having seizures for years without knowing they were seizures (strange phenomena I experienced during the day I put off as being "normal", and I always thought of the after-effects of having grand-mals in my sleep to "a bad nights rest").
I have a question for you guys. I am not sure if this was a seizure or not. Me and 2 of my brothers went to go see the Fourth Kind back in November sometime. It was a good movie. Anyways, we were just sitting there, and it was a perfectly calm moment, and out of the blue, this lady randomly starts screaming so freakin' loud. Everybody jumped when they heard it and the family was all gathered around her calling for help. She wouldn't stop screaming. Me and my bros looked at eachother with our eyes as wide as an owls.
3 people called 911 and the ambulances got there like 10 minutes later. We were all evacuated and everybody was sitting there talking about it in the hallway. I went around and asked people if it was a seizure. Nobody knew what happened.
Do you guys think it was a seizure?
Doesn't sound like one.
It's all fun and games till someone who actually has epilepsy sees that and has a seizure
Luckily for us Epileptics, the idiot doesn't realize that only a very small minority of Epileptics have photosensetive seizures. Most of the time it's idiopathic.
Lucky to be alive? My mother has seizures all the time and doctors say you can't die from them. It can sometimes be good for you since it resets your brain... only way you can die is if you swallow your tongue or fall down, or if its a tumor. In which case, good luck.
You can't be serious? Seizures are most certainly NOT good for you. It's not like a system reboot, it's an electrical storm in your brain!
My mum and her mother have had epilepsy running in the family, so kinda looks like I'm a bit fucked for that. I haven't had any seizures yet but each time i go out or if I'm going to a gig or something she tells me not to get whacked in the head. So no moshing or crowd surfing ect. Curious as to if i should get tested or not though.
I have epilepsy, I've only had them when I was little so I don't remember.
Funny thing is I'm allergic to Phenobarbital, A medicine that helps treat epilepsy. :v:
I took Depakote a different kind of medicine.
I'm sure I still have that necklace that says you have epilepsy somewhere..
I used to take Depicote as well, it's rather large.
What's with so many epileptic on FP?
I only know one single person who get seizures.

Seizures are scary things man, I mean you all already knew that but damn, horrible.

I think there's a lot more of us around than people think. It's not exactly a problem you can see just from looking at someone, which makes it all the easier to ignore, and all the more surprising when someone hits the floor and starts jiggling.
That really blows.
This is the best seizure image

Care to read the whole thread instead of just the title?
First let me start off with; what. the. fuck.
Ok yeah. Well I am gonna leave soon soon to go watch a movies with my family so I am gonna hurry and make this small thread about earlier. Now I have absolutely no history with seizures at all, and no family history with them either. I basically woke up at my desk to my brother yelling at me to wake up, after I woke up he was asking me repeatedly what I was doing, pretty much I could tell he was thinking I was high which I was actually completely sober. He then calls my parents who are on a date that he thinks I just had a seizure, and lucky for them they were finished eating and came back home, my bro said that he saw me in an almost unconscious state but my eyes were open, I was shaking and drooling.
Anyway, I just made this after getting back from the hospital. Will be back later after the movie. My doc said I was lucky to be alive after it. :frown:
im sorry
you should probably stop smoking weed so much
Yeah, it seems funny until you see it happen IRL
My cousin is Epileptic, not photosensitive, but just at random. We were at a campground in the public shower area and he just topples over and starts convulsing and moaning, scary shit dude.
My cat has epilipsy and she a few seizures a month. Since she tries to run from them, she once fell in the pond and started drowning. Luckily I was home!
I hope you're OK.
Shit man.
Could you feel it happening? Did you remember shaking? I'm just curious.
in 7th grade my sister witnessed a kid having a seizure in class. She said it was really scary because for some people they tend to bite really hard and he started to bite down on his tongue so hard that it began to bleed. Then last year in her chemistry class the same kid had a seizure.
She said it was the most scariest thing she ever saw.
Reminds me of when we had all those flashing banner ads back in the 'good old days'. They fucked you up more than any of these images do now.
