With a sufficient amount of questions and sufficient accuracy for these questions (ie. lots of users), we can assume that each question halves the amount of possible answers.
So using a perfect geometric series to model Akinator, the amount of questions a(n) after amount of questions n is:
a(n) = a(0)*(1/2)^n
a(0) = a(n)*2^n
In ideal conditions, the amount of possible answers left in the end should be 1. And that's after 20 questions.
a(0) = 1*2^20 = 1048576
That's 1 million objects it can guess with perfect accuracy, in just 20 questions.
