My friend's father is like that too. My friend never got a visitor at home, while I had tons of them. He never played a game with someone else online or in his home, while I played like a maniac. He never had a TRUE friend, everyone was just laughing at him. And then he met me. 2 years ago, he and her mother left his father, and I must say that he is very happy to leave that scumbag. He got lots of friends, a girlfriend, driving licence and a car, a job,... he got over it. I was the first person in the world, that I found out about this. No one else ever knew about his life, his family. It's quite an honor to help people like these. It really feels amazing to make them happy.
