A lady i ran over with my bike 8 years ago wants me to pay her $13k. What do i do? - General

Unless she reported the incident when it happened, she can't do anything. Any ailments that she may be suffering from at this moment might not even have to do with what you did to her. If I get injured at work and don't report, I can't make a claim 8 years later. It doesn't work that way.

How did you know the medical bill came from her? Where did you learn her name? Was there a cover note on the bill?

Usually i would talk with that lady about the payment and try to bring it down to $5k. But she is dead so I don't think you have to pay.

You can safely deny liability as not only was this 8 years ago (what's the name of that law that drops liability for a criminal act committed in the past), you were a minor when the incident occurred (it's technically not even anywhere close to a criminal act). You could even say you don't remember such an incident. it was 8 fucking years ago, she's just short on pocket change and wants to dick someone over for money. You're pretty safe, I'd pretend you don't know her and have no idea what she's talking about. I read up there that she's dead or something?
