Why does the world hate Michael Bay? You shouldn't go into a Bay movie expecting the plot of Inception. You should marvel at the breathtaking action scenes that Bay is exceptionally good at making.
That's bad. I would hate to watch those movies and seeing something i've seen before.
No one notices it besides autistic people

I believe some people are trying really hard to seem mature so they push away from the teenage stereotype of loving action and no plot violently, and Michael Bay seems like a good outlet of their aggression because he makes movies with much action and not all that much plot.
Wow getting really sick of Manuel Bae's cheap tricks.

Transformers 2 was a terrible mess of a movie. In 5 minutes it would go from scary to comedic to romantic to sad, and this happened continuously throughout that piece of crap. I'm being completely honest when I say I left 20 minutes in, it was actually making me sick to my stomach to endure such terribly planned writing.
Michael bay is so cheap etc etc
Not really, lots of directors do it, people who are crucifying him for this are really just looking for more ammunition
Wow
I for one, enjoyed Transformers 3
I have to agree
Nobody provided an example of another director who does this
Sam Raimi uses the same car in his films.
You're all bitching about some footage being recycled.
$200 million and they couldn't even film all their own scenes. Just makes a shitty movie shittier.
I paid for a whole new movie and I'll get it. NOW. [sp]Nah I'm fine with it.[/sp]

Pretty sure he shoots new footage of it always

Oh, my bad. I just read that they had to reuse some scenes from old movies because of that woman who got paralyzed working on the movie. Which is funny, because she basically lost her life so that Transformers 3 could be produced. It would seem tragic and meaningful if she had been paralyzed while working on, like, a good movie. But on Transformers 3? That's just hilarious.
itt: hey!!! he called me stupid!! why i oughtta
Sam Raimi uses the same car in his films.
uuhh i don't really think using the same prop compares to re-using entire scenes.
But 2 of the major scenes (the ones that would have cost the most $ to produce by far) were re-used because of an accident that happened that left the stunt person paralyzed :s. I'm not sure what's unreasonable about that.
The other two in the OP, while kind of lame, are really minor things to complain about considering it's a jet flying and some army dude talking barely in a military base. Not like the movie would be completely different if they changed it to Generic Military Base #47 or made the jet fly over a slightly different area.

I actually looked into why so many people rated me dumb and found that out. You try so hard to not care about the internet! It's adorable.

Only kidding. Please don't ban me! You're a mod, right? be my friend? :(

Um I never said anything about this being unreasonable, only funny, but okay

They were like 5 second long scenes and cuts, and one of them was for a good reasons
why are people complaining about 2 second VFX shots being reused when the movies are so full of other, more glaring flaws
I mean, who cares
Agree but some people just can't sit in a theater without an intense deep plot.

no no no
did you not read any of the opposing arguments, a film plot doesn't have to be thought provoking or anything, just have some seblance of tension and pacing, and characters who you don't want to immediately punch in the face
that's why predator is a great film and the transformers movies are pieces of shit, the plot is an essential part of the movie, as are many other things such as tension and pacing that bay has no idea how to do
just because you have the low standards to accept this shit doesn't mean it has any artistic merit or entertainment value whatsoever
I honestly can't really think of any action movies that i didn't enjoy to be honest.
I was asking this because i wan't to know if anyone can watch any action movie and enjoy it and also admit that it either has flaws even though they like it or it's a guilty pleasure.
For god sakes it's your typical summer action movie blockbuster with good CGI and some good music, stop arguing over it.
"It isn't a thinking movie", the alternative to that is "mindless garbage to be enjoyed by the stupid masses"
if you enjoy the transformers, you ARE a part of the "mindless, stupid masses".
[editline]6th July 2011[/editline]
Your stereotyping is not appreciated
that doesn't require more money really, just a scriptwriter who has an iq over 40
I was thinking... making Michael Bay intentionally did this to ruin the credibility of the Transformers series when people eventually found out.
It may be a long shot, but think about it, he doesn't want any more sequels being made. He's already refusing to make a sequel, Shia is refusing to star in one, why not go a little bit further and sabotage the movie so that loyal fans think that the series has become 'cheap' so that they won't want a sequel?

The franchise could easily turn into Pirates and have spinoff films (or go the way of X-Men, next thing you know we'll have Transformers Origins: Megatron or Transformers: First Spark) that mainly focuses on The Great War on Cybertron before they come to Earth. There's also a rumor going that Spielberg could pick up the series for himself, but I doubt that would happen. All in all, a reboot is the most likeliest of all options considered.
Lol does he like keep going to the same highways and shit to film thats stupid a

god damn media tag isn't working with this.

You're right, we don't actually dislike Transformers 2, we simply have an ulterior motive to look like we do, I mean, it's not anybody who disagrees with you is in even capable of independent thought, right?

i don't see how this ruins the series' credibility
if you think so you must be severely stupid
Come on, more michael bay names, im laughing all my icecream out of my mouth.
Maybe he was on a tighter budget? Pretty smart idea if that's the case, but otherwise this is funny.
That's bad. I would hate to watch those movies and seeing something i've seen before.
If you watched all those movies.. I doubt you'll realize they're recycled scenes.
It's pretty nicely done really. I wouldv'e not noticed that it's the same scene unless I watched the two movies side by side, like in this GIF.
The reason for this is also fair, so I may have got some reasons to dislike him and his movies, but this ain't one.
