I got an iPhone 3GS about 10 days ago and love it more than my own life. It is fantastic, the amount of free apps out there is so vast no one can try them all and the keyboard is just beautiful. I can type faster than using an alphanumeric keypad now.

I thought that when they said the 3GS was '2x faster' they meant because of the software update, and if you give a regular iPhone that update then there isn't much in it anymore...

Both my brothers have iphones due to my dad getting them a good deal (i signed up for a cheaper contract a while ago so i have to wait for that to run out first) and they're awesome. I love the free internet anywhere, texting is easy and they're just generally really really useful to have
I would side with the IPhone, simply because of jailbreak potential.
However, I'm not really caught up with IPhone jailbreak and it might not be possible on the 3GS.

I like the iPhones interface better...and once you get used to it (takes a day) the on-screen keyboard is really nice.

I have an iPhone 3G and after playing with a 3GS, it really is brilliant. The extra RAM makes all the difference. Having an iPhone is a status symbol. Having an N97 means nothing.
