Spokane PD is constantly on Cops.
Literally the only thing I know about the city.

King County Sheriffs office is on cops a lot too. I always laugh because I recognize a lot of the areas.
I was born there, and spent a good portion of my childhood there. It was incredibly beautiful, and very clean. Best city I've ever visited.

Manito park is a wonderful place. I used to live right nearby. There was also a really nice pastry shop that I visited with my nanny. I don't remember the name though.
There was also a really cool playground on the side of a cliff, and there was a train that ran by it occasionally.
You are just going to wish you lived in western washington instead. More shit to do and just as much easy access to nature. I live in south seattle / north tukwila and I can be out in the woods in 20 mins on the freeway.
So I can't be the first one to want to know:
how do you even pronounce Spokane?
Spoke like a bicycle wheel, anne like the name.

Thanks!
Whats there to do for fun around there? I will likely not be 21, or turning 21 in the middle of my placement, so hopefully there will be something to do before I can get into bars.

You can really only openly smoke in public on the west side, like Seattle and shit. If you're on the east side you'll get busted real quick like.
I don't mean a city wide curfew, but obviously if you live in an apartment and are banging around, yelling, and having a party all night there is a chance people will get pissed off. So yeah a lot of apartments buildings have curfews set to keep the residents happy.
Except that kind of stuff will never happen in Spokane lol
vancouver washington is the best vancouver
Never personally been there, I'm on the other side of the cascades in Vancouver, but it is a college town. I've heard nothing but good things about Spokane.
Just the OG ganster Vantuckyites.
Spoke-anne as far as I can remember.
You guys are correct. The amount of times I have heard tourists pronounce is Spoke-an-e is amazing. I have even heard a few people who live here call it that.
Depends on what you like doing, of course Spokane isn't a huge city like Seattle. I am an outdoors kind of guy so I go out and walk on the trails around my area. (I live right across the street from SFCC)
We have a few malls as well as plenty of stores to shop at, there is a bus system in Spokane so if you don't have a car then you can get around the city. If you like live music or other events we have the Spokane Arena where there are sports event and concerts as well as The Knitting Factory which is a concert house where people perform all the time. Downtown there is the Riverfront Park which is a huge park that sits on a small island of sorts.

You can see the riverfront mall at the end of the road (with the big glass front) which sits right in front of the park not a lot of stores inside but it does have a very nice AMC theater.
Hey, cool beans, I live in spokane! I actually work like a few blocks away from this picture, pretty cool to see my city on Facepunch. It's a totally nice place to live, might be a bit boring to people who come from a big city though. My sister moved up from L.A. and doesn't like it a whole lot.

Spokeana, Warshington. North of Oregone.

I came from Vegas to Spokane. The city has it's moments but when I look back at some of my moments I don't miss it. As a 10 year old walking down the strip with a couple friends I had a prostitute come up to me and ask if I wanted a blowjob. Yeah, that sucked. (no pun intended)
Do take note that during the winter it can get pretty crappy there. Icy and cold.

i find it funny when people from the areas like wisconsin pronounce washington as "warsh-ang-tonne"
You went to ASU, as in Arizona State University? As an Australian exchange student? Knowing what I know about ASU and about how American women have to change their panties every time they hear an Australian accent, I bet you can't even count the number of girls you slept with

I will be sitting on the bus and suddenly I will hear this british or aussie accent and all of a sudden the whole bus goes quiet and then you hear the bimbos in the back of the bus go "OH MY GOD A BRITISH GUY!"
Like I shit you not if you want to improve your chances of finding a girlfriend is the USA just put on an accent. Granted you will end up with a bimbo who just likes you just for your accent because she watches too much Doctor Who and has a fetish for accents haha.
Bimbos watch Doctor Who? Since when?
wasn't there a news story about a dude who moved to new jersey, developed an australian accent, and then used it to seduce women?
[editline]19th June 2013[/editline]
idk i'v heard a few stories of americans developing foreign accents just for the purpose of getting laid.
I can't say much for Spokane, but I absolutely love living in Washington. It's a beautiful state.

While i was over there my roommate put on an aussie accent (which was the worst aussie accent ive ever heard in my life) just to get girls and even that worked.
PUT ANOTHA SHRIMP ON THE BARBEH
I pass through Spokane alot, it's a beautiful city and from what I've heard there's alot to do. It's big enough to actually be a city with city stuff and "out-there" enough to have outdoorsy activities like hiking or canoeing.
And Washington is just cool so that's another layer on the cake :D.
Ill be moving to Kennewick, WA once imm out of the army next month. Can anyone tell me about the tri-cities area of Washington?
OP is getting boxed to shit
