Also, brush your teeth, 'cause oral infections and toothaches hurt like a bitch.
Fortunately thanks to the wonders of modern dentistry, it's not that bad. Unfortunately that modern dentistry is also bloody expensive.
Are these just stories or actual cases? He never shows sources to back up his videos. Surprised "Storytime" isn't written at the end of the title.
interesting this thread pops up on the exact day i call in sick to work because of tooth pain its like fate is punishing me. but my tooth pain is because of a wisdom tooth so i dont have to feel too bad about it
People should be flossing every night as well. It's arguably more important to the health of your teeth than brushing, since most plaque resides within the crevices between your teeth and gums, not on your visible enamel. That's usually how people get cavities most of the time.
I stopped brushing my teeth daily after I turned 18, ever since Ive been brushing them once a month pretty much and I've found that as long as you keep a healthy diet and drink water while avoiding overly fattening or sugary foods (or drugs), your breath smells natural. Ive gone basically 13 years brushing once a month and I've absolutely no complaints. I think all those ads claiming that you must brush your teeth each day or even twice a day are slight exaggerations. I dont even understand how people can stand doing it in the morning as an adult, it basically fucks my natural breath and bacteria and I end up with a cotton mouth all the way up to noon and it feels like shit, and only exacerbates my intense hatred of mornings. Doesn't even matter if it's minty or not. Industrial-grade, high concentration mouth wash is my go-to for when I need to nuke the inside of my mouth quickly and efficiently, but I definitely use it sparingly because it completely rests my bacterial balance.
The problem isn't your breath being stinky, it's your enamel being worn down over time. Hope you like abscesses.
I like how he ends the video with "take care of yourself, and be well." Which is great advice to not end up in one of his videos.
My dad stopped brushing his teeth when he was in his teens, he always had problems with teeth when he was brushing. He's almost 50 now and didn't have a single tooth problem afterwards.
it's crazy to think that diabetes was a terminal disease not too long ago
I didn't brush my teeth for 2 years, no joke. And obviously, I was swimming in pussy at the time, as you can probably tell from someone admitting on Facepunch that they didn't brush for two years. No caveties at that time and no problems with my kidneys ( I think ). I don't consume a lot of sugar though, since it always (even before and after I started brushing again) gives me a weird reaction. Just makes my stomach hurt for like a week. I once did the mistake of consuming copious amounts of Dr. Pepper. I literally thought I was going to die. Never again. Don't know if I should go to the doctor's about it since it don't bother me if I don't eat a lot of sugar. I hear that it's pretty hard to avoid in the states though, sounds like they put sugar in everything over there. Might just be people overreacting or not enough people over here complaing about our food, idk.
Damn, reminds me a few years ago my bottom left molar started to hurt. The pain was so extreme when touched I had to eat very slowly. The pain actually went away and a year or two later it came back, but this time it was a full on infection. I couldn't even sleep, I just cried in bed wishing for the pain to go away that no OTC pain meds could stop. After about a day or two my gums started to swell and the pain got worse. Now I have what feels like a gumball made of needles in my gums. The next day I am sitting on my couch watching TV trying to ignore the pain when I started to smell something terrible. I thought maybe my dog took a shit on the floor. Turns out it was my gums, the puss broke through and was pouring into my mouth. I spent 30 minutes washing my mouth out with salt water. AND HOLY CRAP THE PAIN SUBSIDED. It seems that 90% of the pain was the pressure on my gums from the puss. Fast forward a year or two, I took a bite of a burrito and a chip of my tooth fell out. After that I knew I should drop the $300 and get it pulled.
Gonna subs this guy. I liked his video on the kid that ate the tide pods.

Your only option is to cut almost every storebought beverage and pre-prepared foodstuff out of your life.
So did you learn your lesson about not brushing your teeth or?
:frown:
my teeth are fine, it's my gums that I need to focus on when brushing.

Eat some tide pods and you'll never have to brush your teeth again
Eat some tide pods and you'll never have to brush your teeth again
Your teeth will be clean for the rest of your life.
cant believe someone actually has to post this
me neither but the amount of people in this thread that are going 'i dont brush and im fine and so is my dad' is insane.
I need to stop checking this thread you guys are revolting

"but my gums bleed when I floss!" this is even more reason to floss, the reason they bleed is because your gums are sensitive due to the bacteria stuck between your teeth that your toothbrush bristles can't get to. here's a nasty little thing you can try to demonstrate why flossing is important, get a piece of floss, run it between your teeth, and smell what comes out with it, that disgusting stench is what is sitting between your teeth if you don't floss. If that doesn't motivate people to floss idk what will.
if you brush too hard you can actually do more damage, by wearing the enamel down
This combined with some stress induced grinding fucked up my molars so much. No infections and the teeth are all technically healthy, but I don't have much enamel left and had to have some patches put in to prevent further issues.
Yeah I didnt brush for the longest time through highschool I would go a month at a time not brushing. Had about 4 cavities and 2 teeth pulled due to it, and an abscess that had me nearly considering suicide at times. Just brush your fucking teeth, you are not immune to the effects of tooth decay. You wont notice anything wrong until its too late.
tooth pain is no joke. i had to go to the emergency room for morphine for my problem tooth that just sort of caved in one day. the morphine didn't even help.

Yeah there is something about tooth aches, they just don't act like normal pain, its like the torture version of pain. I've been kept in bed for a few days just for tooth aches.
Jesus Christ, here I was thinking I was bad for only sometimes brushing my teeth once instead of twice a day before I read this thread.
Just blast your tooth decay away with piss, like you would with a toilet bowl Easy as can be
Take it from me... Someone who, as a stupid fucking idiot child, didn't brush his teeth at all. And now, I have none. Zero. I had them all pulled over my teens because they were starting to rot out of my mouth. I can't afford dentures that fit and implants are ~$1k/tooth. And all I had to do, to save myself from this shit, was take 5 minutes of my fucking time and brush my teeth. I hated doing it because it was time consuming and it would always make my gums bleed and hurt. I remember, even, as a kid SCRAPING off the plaque like it was a thick film over my teeth. It was so fucking gross thinking back on it. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES PEOPLE.. PLEASE [sp]Also, i'd say that on the bright side I don't get tooth aches. i do, I get phantom tooth aches still, to this day.[/sp]
