If you told me this was running on the old engine I would believe you.
I bet they are still using q3Radiant to make dem maps. LOL! If they are still using a variation of Radiant though they should release a full on map/mod making system. I miss custom shit that isn't hax. I guess I am dreaming though. Seems like modding is slowly going away because of consoles now. :tinfoil:
If you told me this was running on the old engine I would believe you.
But... it is running on the "old" engine, since they're still using the same goddamn engine. They just did what Bethesda did and renamed it, along with some very minor upgrades. [editline]10:01[/editline] Actually I'm not sure they even bothered to rename it, they just said that they've got a new engine.
Are they trying to beat Splinter Cell's nightvision goggles? Seriously, does this exist?
They are L-3 GPNVG-18s and DEVGRU uses them in real life.
that was so ridiculous for a moment there I thought I was looking at a parody or something
woo can't wait to shoot some brown people!
Either the same way they justify all regenerating health - that is, no justification at all - or that section may be like the infamous part from the first Black Ops, where you have the gas mask and it cracks and eventually breaks after a certain threshold of damage, killing you instantly. I really hated that section.
I loved that section. For once there was some suspense in combat.
I like how you can still hear gun sounds in the trailer that haven't changed since probably Call of duty 2
I don't even get why a new gun sound is a selling point to you, it's an annualized series ofcourse they are going to recycle things, just like any annualized sport series does. Doesn't mean the games aren't fun even if they aren't worth the price tag, wait for them to drop. It's like people just find something to hate about the game because the title is Call of Duty.
Sweet, Colin the Dog took down a helicopter
in all seriousness no matter how stupidly mawkish cod's campaigns are they'll still be better than battlefield's
cool trailer
Space Warriors! But seriusly, they still use same animations from Call of Duty 4???
Looks decent. I'd quite like to know what "the rods" are though. Was American decimated by massive cocks from space?
Imagine big steel rebars flung from LEO. It's a theoretical weapon which has shown up a few times already. Basically they use kinetic energy to cause damage and are also often dumb fired so much harder to take down.
I thought it was going to be along the lines of one of the old quotes "You may be willing to die for your country but are you willing to kill for it?", but that whole give your son's life just makes the character sound like a nutter.
Eh it's just a paraphrase of the biblical Abraham and Isaac deal. Just replacing god with country. Also I wonder who the new enemy is. Brazilians? Some South American alliance? The map has twelve stars like the EU one which is meant to represent unity, so no idea really.
in all seriousness no matter how stupidly mawkish cod's campaigns are they'll still be better than battlefield's
Yeah BF3's campaign was a joke. They seem to be putting a little effort into BF4's though.
The Spetsnaz level in BF3 was awesome, the rest was pretty bland though
Can you actually fire guns in space? Or do they have ultra sci-fi guns that shoots bullets in space? [editline]11th September 2013[/editline]
in all seriousness no matter how stupidly mawkish cod's campaigns are they'll still be better than battlefield's
Ain't nothing beats BF2's campaign. [sp]It didn't have one. You choose a map and fight with and against bots.[/sp]
Thats really not that far off of call of duty's campaign. And neither of their campaigns are very interesting anyways, unless you really like shooting down hoards of bots.
So they basically went: -Okay what are the ideas for next CoD? -Well, everyone liked ghost from mw2 -Sadly we've killed him. Can't milk a dead cow. -What if we would make an entire agency/faction out of ghosts? -START RETERXTURING THE FACES TO LOOK LIKE VARIATIONS OF GHOST'S MASK!!!
Can you actually fire guns in space? Or do they have ultra sci-fi guns that shoots bullets in space?
You can fire guns in space. The issues from from recoil, you'd be kicked back along with the bullet being shot, and the bullet will continue at a much higher velocity until it hits something or gets pulled into the gravity of something thanks to the vacuum.
I loved that section. For once there was some suspense in combat.
I don't mind limited health, and on paper a section like that would be tense.. If the game wasn't designed around the regenerative health to a point that it's just plain inevitable you'll take damage. When you suddenly slap in a forced 'can only take so much damage' segment into an area filled with enemies you can't see without sighting in but have no trouble shooting you rapidly from the other side of said area, there's bound to be bullshit ahead.
So they basically went: -Okay what are the ideas for next CoD? -Well, everyone liked ghost from mw2 -Sadly we've killed him. All I remember are people with last names that I didn't really care about.
They're running out of ways to 1up themselves and it's past ridiculous.
A space gunfight trumps MW2's space EMP knocking out all of America's electrical systems and somehow throwing a guy in space out of the ISS' reach, even though there wouldn't be any gravitational push or pull.
Can you actually fire guns in space? Or do they have ultra sci-fi guns that shoots bullets in space?
Yes you can, there's a chemical reaction that happens when a bullet is fired and it's not affected by lack of oxygen. There is no real like fire explosion when you fire so it would be unaffected in space. The only problem is thanks to the glory of Newtons First Law once the bullet is fired it will NEVER stop, until it hits something.
Only a simple CoD trailer would spark this much discussion. What I don't get is why people continue to debate and bash on the series..if you don't like the game don't watch the trailer and don't bitch to other people about it. We all know what to expect with CoD, so why get up in arms about it? CoD is pretty much the Madden of FPS. I don't expect much out of them, but they're fun pick me up games that provide plenty of pew pew without going super in depth. Some of you guys must be really fun at parties...

In my mind CoD evolves so slowly it's only really worth buying one every two-three years. I might pick this up, undecided.
Are they trying to beat Splinter Cell's nightvision goggles? Seriously, does this exist?
For a second I thought they were grenades
Isn't this pretty much MW2 and 3's plot?
How many of the recent CoD games have involved America getting invaded? Is this, like, subliminal messaging? Does America want to be invaded? Seriously, just ask North Korea nicely, they're desperate to make themselves look big.
Does this follow the black ops lore?
ghost russians in space wow im sold
