The devs claimed Ghosts is its own continuity, but it's being made by Infinity Ward, so probably not. You're more likely to see it tie in with Modern Warfare instead.

Comparing Call of Duty to any of the shitty rehashed sports games that EA dumps on us every year doesn't really help your case bud. If the only thing that changes every year is a shitty generic story with characters as interesting as door knobs and a very small amount of gameplay and skin changes, the fucks the point of buying these games? Seriously, the only major changes in this series since 2003 has been kill streaks and settings, and thats my point.
If you find it fun then buy it, I don't care it's your money not mine. But the only real reason to buy the same game every 12 months (and then buy more over priced DLC thats maps YOU ALREADY OWN FROM PREVIOUS GAMES) is because everyone else is buying it.

Please, please tell me how you innovate more on a game about shooting people then they already did. That's like saying MLB the show sucks because it's the same thing every year, all you do is play baseball. What, would you like them to fart on each other instead of shooting? Having a formula down of shooting people and gaining levels is their thing, you can't expect it to be some totally different the next year.
Only thing i enjoy in a Call of Duty game is the campaign and zombies.

I didn't necessarily say it sucked, I just said the only reason you buy these games with yearly releases is because everyone else does. Playing the same game once is enough for me, and leveling up to the max level once is enough for me. Having to do it once a year because they changed the look of a helicopter in MP doesn't really do it for me.
If you want examples of what you should see in a proper sequel, look most sequels prior to ~2008.

They go "I liked last years CoD game, and the new one plays like that with a new campaign, setting, guns, maps, and gameplay features" and then they buy it.
This is the same thought process that goes on whenever people buy any sequel.

Yes four lens night vision goggles are a real thing, and they aren't -that- new. Your depth perception and peripheral vision is awful with NV and it's suppose to help. I don't know the technical part of it, I just know they're real cause my dad was a Ranger and is currently Special Forces and I've asked him about it before.
It's almost like they're trying to parody themselves now.

Exactly, people like to sit on a high horse and act like they know it all. I like arcade shooters, it's awfully silly for someone to assume I buy a game just because everyone else buys it.
