And even if it wasn't, it's pillow shaded and gradiented, aswell as suffering from bad proportions.
It's not the sort of thing you should be proud of.

I swear, I did this on MS Paint. I got lazy with the body, but the head took, roughly 5-7 hours to make. =/ I made it five years ago. Once I realized what I can do, I just stopped caring afterwards. XD Now, I make more cartoony stuff.
Yes... That's supposed to be Sweet Tooth. =/

Maybe, I only chose the other because it took more time. I like this one more, but, like I said, it's more cartoony. I apologize for the crappy, fuzziness. It keeps uploading as jpeg.[/QUOTE]
This shows promise because he's made some effort, lets back off our comrade. The shading gradients are a little uniformed so try and get a more natural shading which you nailed much better on the second one.
Theres a great bunch of paint artists on DA which I'd link you but sadly can't because I was banned for taking over paint groups without being invited but a comrade on there who goes by the username of PIROtehnic will be a great ref for shading. It's amazing how simple shading can be for dramatic effect.
Save your images as png as well heres some image hosts if yours is jewpegging it

You see, I have no artistic ability (obviously). It was, mainly, a test of what I can possibly do and learning how to do any sort of shading at all. Through it, I found out how to do gradients. I look back at it now, and I think, "What the hell did I do? I tried way too hard." So, following that huge mistake, I didn't want to do anything realistic. I wanted to develop my own style, in a sense. There, I was trying to copy what I've learned from looking at other pictures rather than letting my imagination run wild. Plus, I wanted to just do the mask, but figured that I would do the whole body.
The second one is what came from my imagination. I wanted to keep it quick and simple, yet kind of silly looking and not realistic (yet again, obviously by the bone in the neck). That is what I was going for in that pic... Something that will always make me smile when I look at it. I believe that I successfully did that seeing as how I still smile.
Art isn't viewed the same way by everyone. Maybe, instead of criticizing someone's "artwork", you should ask them what they were aiming for while doing it. If the successfully have done it, wouldn't that make it artwork in a sense? The rest is how pretty it is. When Jackson Pollock "splashed" paint on a canvas, would it be considered art? Yes, because it's expressing his feelings in that time period. Yes, to most people, it may not look pretty or "any idiot" can do it, but have you thought of something so expressing? It's doubtful. The same thing goes for Picasso. Near the end of his painting reign he painted some crazy ass stuff that was disproportionate. Was it awful, too? No, it was art... expression.
I'm not talking about this anymore. I will just post more pieces of my artwork at a later date.
That... is a lot of excuses and downgrading yourself.
Good job comparing yourself to Picasso by the way.=)

Doesn't change the fact that it's horrible.
You should really decide a style to go for, instead of taking a bunch of subpar ones and smash them together.
If you don't want any critique go back to DA.
People seem really focused on finding their own style around here, why? Isn't it better to learn the basics of drawing before you worry about such things?
Picasso was also capable of drawing realism, not entirely sure about Jackson Pollock although I'm pretty sure he was capable of drawing realism too.
Okay, so I decided to copy the look of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. This one followed my clown guy.

Yes, I realize the castle looks like shit. I messed up on it horribly, but when I put it in my comic, I cut off the top of it to hide my screw up. LOL!
The roof of the house is pointing straight at us, but we can see the front wall :raise:
Blame the game... in a way. I was trying to do it from memory and, yet again, messed up a bit. It's all good, though. I think I just forgot to put the roof back a bit farther. It's an easy fix that I will not do. I don't care about this comic anymore.
But thanks for pointing that out. I never noticed.

Is how zelda works I'm afraid
The tiles are quite nice but that tree looks pretty lazy.
Yeah, it's close. I was looking at my GBA when I made it, so some of it may be a little off.
You got me! I didn't feel like making it detailed. XD Laziness gets the best of us, but if I did make it extra detailed it would stand out too much. Although, the colors for the tree is kind of bright compared to the rest. The seats aren't shaded right either... sigh... I wish I was artistic. Lol!

You should do some practice with perspective, that second wing should not be visible

Yeah, but :words: this is how >insert famous artist who doesn't draw realism< would've done it so it's obviously OK.
Except in this case not even he does it that way :v:

I will admit I cheated on one little part
I had no clue how to make the visor semi transparent, so I just did that part in Photoshop....
Rest is legit Paint though.
Very nice shading you have going on there.
Thanks.
I tend to be really good at cell shading like that. (Is that what it could be classified as?)

You can do it by moving the color you have picked beneath a set amount towards the red shade.
Then just make sure to move every color towards the red part an equal amount, so you don't make the stuff above blue, red as well, but it is purple instead. Then adjust brightness to that palette if needed.

Wow, for some reason i find your art so amazing!
My first drawing with a tablet I borrowed from a friend.
It may be my first, but to be fair, I spent a fuckton of time on it.
