Well I watched 6 movies in a row so here we go : Hannibal Rising : 2/10 (Way of the Samurai ? The fuck ?) Red Dragon : 9/10 (Edward Norton doing a great job. Still strange to see Hannibal supposed to be younger while Hopkins is obviously way older than in SotL or Hannibal) Silence of the lambs : 9/10 (buffalo bill was rather scary) Hannibal : 8/10 (kind of a let down, Hannibal definitely isn't made to be a main character) Fight Club : 9/10 (still as good) Psycho : 6/10 (seriously it hasn't aged well, at all)
Se(seven)en **** I gotta applaud the look of the film here. How did this not at least get a nomination for best art direction at the academy awards?

that's not really jim carrey....
I actually preferred "Hannibal" over "Silence". Not sure why either, I just did. Silence of the Lambs is still a nice movie, though.
Hannibal just felt too over the top for the most part in my opinion. The plot couldn't really hang up as there were no serial killer to make a link between a character and Hannibal this time. I couldn't really care about what was happening to all the characters because nothing was connecting them whatsoever. Hannibal Lecter is a great movie villain, no doubt about it, but he's not made to be a main character.
That and what follows this scene. [sp]Seriously who could ever run away with a severed hand without bleeding to death and without ever being tracked ?[/sp] Also the part where [sp]he's getting stalked by that guy he ends up stabbing[/sp] is pretty stupid as well. How was he able to strike so fast, so quickly and so precisely in the blink of an eye ? In Silence, Lecter is clever, manipulative and skilled, but he always traps somewhat his victims. In Hannibal, he kills way too much people with way too much talent - he's supposed to be a crazy doctor, not a military trained psychopath. Also, no one ever since to remember what Lecter looks like. Seriously, in real life I'm pretty sure a lot of people would be able to recognize Charles Manson, mainly because for a long time his face was being shown all around (and we can clearly see in red dragon he got his face displayed on every single magazine at the time, so how does no one ever recognize him in Italy ?).
Well he wasn't precise when he [sp]stabbed that guy who's stalking him. The guy even says something along the lines of "He tried to get my balls, didn't let him."[/sp] As for how he kills people with way too much talent, well it's not as if he hasn't had practice.
Always living up to your name.
I like the movie. What's your problem?
The Wicker Man (2006), [del]Horror[/del] Comedy 8 / 10 While this movie is actually horrendous, it's hilarious to see Nic Cage acting like a total douche. That was just the tip of the eisberg. [editline]13th September[/editline] My favourite scene is where Nic kicks the poor woman straight in the face, which looks like it was originally meant to be in slow motion.

no country for old men - 5/10 well this movie was incredibly mediocre it was just silly and the characters weren't defined well the ending was absurd and meaningless and made the movie overall a waste of time
I don't think you got the point of the ending, or even of the whole movie, but yeah. Tastes and stuff.
the wickerman was disappointing in a so-bad-its-good sense, watched it with some friends. the last 10 minutes or so were pure gold but other than that most of the rest was just really boring. youre better off watching highlights on youtube
I watched Jacobs Ladder again last night 9/10
Going to watch a couple of movies from the top 250. "Heat" and "Leon: The Professional". Any take on those ones, guys?
...I seen a Leon: The Professional action figure on eBay. Probably a lame movie.
Actually lol I'm very high. Doing homework, Facepunch, and weed. Best multi-tasking ever. And also, the action figure looked silly, and I don't blame the manufacturers. I said the movie is probably lame cause, well, it probably is? At the very least smoke something before you watch it..
Hamburger Hill 8/10 HH isn't as good as Platoon, but it's IMO better than "Apocalypse Now". For fans these movies "must watch"!

I mean at least you stopped threadshitting and started posting your opinions in the appropriate thread, but damn you have the worst opinions of anybody. Ever. [editline]13th September 2011[/editline]
...I seen a Leon: The Professional action figure on eBay. Probably a lame movie.
Okay you haven't even seen the movie but you assume it's lame because it had action figures? If you look hard enough, you can find action figures for any movie. Case in point So I guess that makes Terminator 2 lame?
I want to watch that movie again. I found it boring as hell the first time, but I think there was something I was missing because I love The Coen Brothers.
They have a unique style about them which I think is sometimes groundbreaking.
Going to watch a couple of movies from the top 250. "Heat" and "Leon: The Professional". Any take on those ones, guys?
Heat is quite enjoyable and has lots of exciting gun fights and suspense. but overall it dragged on for a fair while and was filled with lots of, well, filler, that was just boring. the professional is an annoying film and the only good part is the end [sp]fight[/sp]. the girl was annoying and i disliked her character immensely. the main villain was stupid as hell but the most annoying thing is probably that leon's meant to be some italian assassin but has a thick french accent. [editline]13th September 2011[/editline] also, did you just recently acquire an attraction to natalie portman?
I didn't think Leon was a "masterpiece" but it's enjoyable. The characters are likeable and it's easy to watch. I expected to find depth in Leon's character but he isn't much of a character imo.
but the most annoying thing is probably that leon's meant to be some italian assassin but has a thick french accent.
it's like you didn't even watch the movie he is french, he is meant to be french, he works for an italian, his name is also french also the movie is fantastic stop having terrible opinions
stop having terrible opinions
why are they terrible
why are they terrible
There's ignoring general consensus and enjoying what you enjoy, and then there's constantly thinking the exact opposite of general consensus Every movie you've hated has been critically praised every movie you have sort of enjoyed has been poorly received due to being terrible u live in upside down world your opinions are wrong
What do I expect to see when I watch "The Room"?
your opinions are wrong
i gauge a movie by how much i enjoy it i'm not going to just agree that a movie is great because several critics have said so opinions can't be wrong and im not about to change the way i feel just because it is the opposite of others opinions i believe you are a simple minded wannabe film buff who likes 'good movies' just to seem smart and like you know what you're on about i bet that whenever you around friends (if you have any) you act all pretentious because you believe that somehow your opinion on film is greater than theirs you can disagree with my opinions all you want but i don't feel any compulsion to deceive myself into liking what i dont like i'm never going to say i like a movie just because it's a 'good movie' have fun constantly lying to yourself.
I'm not saying you should agree that the movies are good just because of what critics say But considering you are constantly saying the complete opposite goes to show your taste in films [editline]13th September 2011[/editline] And I don't at all decieve myself into liking things because of how they are critically recieved on occasion I differ, I hated The Wrestler for example. you're entirely wrong about me you just have a bad taste in film.
why are they terrible
You'll learn quickly that some people on this forum think other peoples opinions are subject to change. Or incorrect. Because its normal to have a correct or wrong opinion. [editline]13th September 2011[/editline]
Yeah but you seem to enjoy literally nothing.
What are you even harping at? I am lost.
I hated The Wrestler for example.
It had heart, but Mickey Rourke has done better in his early days.
