Day of the dead 1985 (for the god knows how many-th time) 9/10 I love the cabin fever style; instead of running around screaming and gunning down the Zeds like in most modern zombie movies, theres a great feeling of ohgodwe'restuckherewhatdo with them getting gradually more irritated at each other and such. Also when the death scenes finally come with Rhodes' crew, man oh man are they awesome :q:
Days of Glory, 9/10, a very good albeit unknown war film.
Tekken (2010) It blew. 1994's Street Fighter shall remain the king of films based on fighting-games. 2/10
There was no point for you to see that movie. [editline]3rd June 2011[/editline] Vertigo 10/10 One pet peeve is that the lead actor looks like he's in his 50s and falls in love with a woman in her 20s, other than that... true masterpiece.
A Clockwork Orange 9.5/10 I love this movie.
i hate the lord of the rings movies but I know nobody else on the internet agrees with me I love a lot of films most people would consider boring, I just watched Solaris and that was so great. but the LOTR films are just SO BORING. I don't care about any of the characters. There are so many of them too. It's as bad as the Star Wars prequels, but nobody else seems to realise it.
I don't want to say "I'm with you, bro." because I'll get a battering, but I can see where you're coming from. Solaris... is amazing (not the remake).
I couldn't get past 1hr of the first movie. I don't even know how I expected to watch all of them in one day.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm 8/10

Do people find the LOTR films boring or bad? Just because you find them slow paced doesn't make them into some kind of badly made trash. There's so much dedication and attention to details put in to those movies.
X-Men: First Class 8.5/10
Slumdog Millionaire 6/10 Didn't really like it at all. Felt bored throughout most of it.
Yojimbo 10/10
Slumdog Millionaire 6/10 Didn't really like it at all. Felt bored throughout most of it.
It's slightly highly regarded, but it's different. Therefore interesting. Slumdog Millionare was terrible imo [editline]4th June 2011[/editline] Like really really terrible
Slumdog Millionare was terrible imo [editline]4th June 2011[/editline] Like really really terrible
Had a fresh delivery of culture with a very nice soundtrack. Acting wasn't great but the villain dude was top notch.
The plot was also shit
Not necessarily the plot that defines the movie. If I wanted a plot, I'd read a book.

I can see the technical achievements of the films but they don't make up for the length.
One pet peeve is that the lead actor looks like he's in his 50s and falls in love with a woman in her 20s, other than that... true masterpiece.
I started thinking that as I was watching it, but James Stewart is just awesome.

just watched some cheap porno called "dirty dick done dirt cheap" 10/10 "twas a beautiful film it made me cry in many ways"- severepapercut

[editline]4th June 2011[/editline] Do the same people who like LOTR like Godfather or Apocalypse Now as much?
That's different, Coppola > Jackson. Had Coppola made the LOTR films, you'd all be pissing your pants for joy over them, regardless of length.
That's different, Coppola > Jackson. That is a polarising movie though. I don't know if I prefer North By Northwest.
Imagine if Sergio Leone had made them. :psyboom:
Imagine if Jean-Luc Godard made them. [editline]3rd June 2011[/editline] that would be cool
M (1931) 9/10 Very good, interesting movie. I have always found ethical questions like that to be very interesting. Some scenes seemed to drag on a little bit. The movie's style and lack of music is kind of weird, but it could just be because of when the movie was made. Also, I'm not sure if changing either would have improved it or not. I think that the last scene with the weeping mothers could have been done better, or maybe even omitted. It just kind of like it's saying "This is the moral of the story" in big neon lights even though what the movie was really talking about was explained thoroughly in the preceding scene. I think it may have just been included to make the movie more palatable to the censors.
Back To The Future 10/10 It was a childhood classic. I loved everything about the movie.
