It just seemed a bit boring. Their are some action things, and the monologue can get pretty intense, but for the most part the main story seemed kind of dry to me.

Watched The Hurt Locker for the first time, a nice solid war movie, I liked the angle on the bomb squad, which made a change to the standard "l33t soldiers winning the whole war" of most war movies.

artificial intelligence
i can't really give this one a rating. jude law is awesome though, so is the teddy bear.
it struck a deep chord within me, my appearance as a child being quite like haley joel osmond in a way probably helped. i'm not completely positive why. i have an idea though, something about my childhood lacking innocence. maybe that i feel more like a machine than a person from incredibly dulled emotions and almost complete conscious detachment from reality. like when three tears came down across my face after the teddy bear pulled out the lock of hair i didn't feel anything, my face didn't squeeze up either. i just sat there with an ever constant thousand yard stare.
it's funny how when something tries to drive a point across so much so that it becomes insanely cheesy, someone out there can pull something entirely different away from it.
kind of a testament to the whole "death of the author" thing if i may say so myself.

when i first watched it in theatres i was to young to appreciate the visual tone or anything about it really. then i saw it again nearly a decade later and found it incredibly boring because of the ending.
then i saw this wikipedia article after looking up the game (which is awesome, fuck the critics):

anyone else love watching movies with subtitles? it makes it so much easier to watch for me.
Sometimes I love subtitles, other times it's easier to just "try and hear" what they're saying all the time because real life doesn't have subtitles.
i got some kind of brain fuckup so i hear things differently sometimes. plus those real quiet scenes piss me off cause i have to turn up the volume just to hear them whispering to each other and then BOOOOOOM or some shit like that

Not as good as the original and there was a lot of changes I didn't like, still a good movie and worth watching though.
