The Human Centipede II null/10 I don't even fucking know. [editline]1[/editline] TL;DW [sp]A woman crushes the head of her newborn child with her foot[/sp]
World's greatest dad 8/10 Great soundtrack and a pretty great story. There really is something special about these sad comedy movies. I would've given this movie a better rating if it didn't have such a disappointing ending. [sp]I just hate happy go lucky endings. I was honestly hoping he was daydreaming during the last minutes.[/sp] Watching Robin Williams being sad just tears your soul apart. Bruce Hornsby was also a good touch.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning 7.5/10 Despite my hatred for these invincible villain type movies, I quite liked this as it focused more on the psychology of the characters, who were well acted imo.
Jackie Brown 10/10 Just got the collectors edition My favorite Tarantino movie
Dude, what? [sp] was it screaming or something? Did it show it? I might be able to watch it if it doesn't show it. [/sp]
It's a really long story. Kind of I guess. I assume you know the premise of the film. Guy sees the original and wants to recreate it. [sp]One of the "subjects" the freak maims and captures is pregnant. While he is assembling the centipede she wakes up and gets to her car with blood pouring out of her vagina (it takes place in a parking garage). She locks the doors and gives birth to her child on the floor of the car. You can see the birth of the child and everything. She turns on the car and slams her foot on the gas pedal where the baby's head is. I have no idea why. You see the baby's head getting crushed for like half a second[/sp] I have no idea why I would ever have to type something that fucked up. I apologize, fingers.
The sad part is it's almost funny. I was watching interviews with Tom Six and he said was the whole point. I was saying, "What the fuck is this?" during the film but I was chuckling while I was doing it.
Mmm man I hate this post ^ [editline]2nd November 2011[/editline] Yeah fuck statements and messages!!! it has to be CINEMATIC!!!
And I hate your post. I don't watch movies for a fuckin political message, I watch it for entertainment.
Tower Heist: 7/10
Limitless: 9/10 I really liked this one.
Batman Begins - 10 / 10
Fucking phenomenal, better than TDK imo
Really? I felt that Begins paled in comparison to TDK and would go so far as to call it a very archetypal comic book hero film. TDK was a unique spin on that formula in that it had balls. But, that isn't to say that it was bad film and it was the better sum of its parts when it came out but it has since been completely upstaged by TDK.
Thor. If we're judging by what I expected, I'll give it a 937/1000. If we're judging by the quality of the actual movie, around a 792/1000
Cars 2 6.5/10 I enjoyed this film for two main reasons - I actually liked the first Cars movie, and I'm a sucker for Pixar films. However, I knew going in that Cars 2 wasn't going to be that good (it's the only Pixar movie so far that I haven't seen in theaters). I felt like this story would have been a lot better as a Disney Channel movie or miniseries, but as a movie it just didn't work as well. The 'violence' seemed a little over-the-top, and the story and characters weren't as strong as the original. For instance, the race in Cars was the most important, while it is only a subplot in 2. There doesn't seem to be anything at stake - the original had fame, a big break, and the sponsorship, but the sequel didn't have much at all. Also, the opponent race car (Chick Hicks versus Francesco Bernoulli) is more developed - in the original, Chick is an unsavory character, undeserving of the praise he seeks. Francesco is just a jerk, and a bland one at that. Sure, Mater was funny and loveable while Michael Caine was cool, but that just wasn't enough to carry the movie. Also, the environmental message against "Big Oil" was pretty hamfisted and awkward. [editline]5th November 2011[/editline] Iron Man 2 9/10
Watch the "Tree of Life". It's even more pretentious and awesome.
It's not though, arthouse films still have points, as vague and disconnected as they can be. Tree of Life was not good, even Sean Penn agrees and he was in the thing
It's not though, arthouse films still have points, as vague and disconnected as they can be. [editline]6th November 2011[/editline] Going to watch the aristocrats tonight, i've only seen the gotfried rendition of the joke so i'm curious to see the others. has anyone seen it?
Tree of Life was not good, even Sean Penn agrees
How was it not good. It was a great experience.
Midnight in Paris was good. 7/10
The Aristocrats Documentary 10/10 Pissed myself laughing

I posted a while back and you trolled until you came out admitting you hadn't actually seen it.

I posted a while back and you trolled until you came out admitting you hadn't actually seen it.
I haven't seen it but I haven't liked any other Terrence Malick films and my friend pretty much confirms for me (and he is usually* right) that it's no different.
Here, have my friend's review. http://reviewsbytom.blogspot.com/2011/07/review-tree-of-life.html
He says "there is no way of getting it". I don't "Get it" but I thought it was a great experience. Self-Indulgent? Maybe. But all he wants to do is give you that "heart" in a weird way. You can't just repeatedly say "it's obviously pretentious" and bla bla bla... because it really doesn't matter. I wouldn't watch it again though, there's the thing.
Iron Man 2 9/10
What? Iron Man 2 was a complete mess.
It was a blatant set-up for The Avengers but I still like it. 8/10 for me.
It's one of the more sane plots compared to other Coen Brothers movies.
LOOK UPON ME, LOOK UPON ME AND I WILL SHOW YOU THE LIFE OF THE MIND I WILL SHOW YOU THE LIFE OF THE MIND I WILL SHOW YOU THE LIFE OF THE MIND I-WILL-SHOW-YOU-THE-LIFE-OF-THE-MIND also miller's crossing is incredibly normal. really you'd probably never guess it's a coen bros film hart's war 8/10 i really loved the ending when they all saluted and the monologue about honor.

And I know he's supposed to, but it almost feels like Batman is a secondary character next to Joker and Harvey. It doesn't help that the Katie Holmes was replaced, I really think she would have been better. Has anyone even heard of the role she was obligated to play instead? I haven't. I dunno, BB just seems like more of a film, whereas TDK felt like more of a summer action blockbuster.
The Lord of the Rings Extended trilogy: 14.5/10 Looking back, it's my favorite movie of all time as a whole. Even more so than Star Wars.
Star wars aint got shit on LotR
Star wars aint got shit on LotR
Please tell me this post is a joke [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] LOTR is lifeless. It's droning. It's people walking and cold emotionless battle scenes. I don't even like Star Wars that much but it's got heart, it's got great characters, it has unique and interesting stories and they are told well. LOTR has none of this. All the characters are so cold and boring, it's so bleak and just one of the most bland movies I've ever seen. But few people online agree with me because it's got elves and swords and fighting and wizards and shit and everyone gets boners over that stuff no matter how shitty it is, just like the Elder Scrolls games (which there is absolutely no denying are incredibly poorly made, but everyone fuckin loves them anyway it's beyond me).
LOTR is amazing, what are you talking about? You're the one with the wrong opinion this time.
When you learn not to listen to Rusty's "bad" opinions of great movies (whether personally or generally), your day is that much better.
