Mystic River
Not too good.
6/10
I like Tim Robbins and the movie is made very well, but if you think about it it had no big or moving plot at all and I'm more of a plot guy.

It's still REALLY expansive. 3D tickets in my country cost 10$, and I find this too expansive too..
It's just a disturbing movie with no actual thrills, no engaging storyline etc...just violence.
You expected more? lol
Misery 8.4/10
dear god that was terrifyingly good
the acting and reactions were pretty off. it's one of those movies that i think should get remade
still a damn good movie, i oughta read more stephen king

Adult ticket of an extremely limited feature, it's highly likely that any future releases of the film will be cut due to lobbying.
(ps its not 3d also whoever said that)
Adult tickets here are normally $18 AUD, which may seem steep but let me remind you of Australia's higher cost of living in part due to our higher wages.

good lord
people complain about our $11 adult ticket price
You have to understand that even our minimum wage is much higher, and while I wish we didn't pay such inflated prices, it's not as huge a deal as it might seem to an American. Everyone still pays it, it's not breaking anybody's bank.

Plus there are cheap days, on Tuesday it's $11
If anything was done wrong, I think that Kathy Bates' acting was a little too over-the-top at times, but I love that movie.
Didn't she get an Oscar for that role?

Street Fighter: The Movie 5/10
Why, WHY in the WORLD do you give the role of an American to a Belgian dude with a terribly thick French accent?

so ~exclusive~
The movie bashes you over the head with the whole "are the cannibals really the savages or is it the white people?" message in the worst way available. The camera crew that goes missing does a bunch of horrible shit to the natives without any clear motivation to do so, kind of like captain planet villains.
If I remember it right they did it in order to "fake" provoking footage showing of the cannibals as beasts which would make them famous.
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn - 9/10
You expected more? lol
at least the first film had some suspenceful moments in which the "killer" was chasing the characters, and the intervention of the police etc etc. Here there is none of that.
If I remember it right they did it in order to "fake" provoking footage showing of the cannibals as beasts which would make them famous.
yeah but then why bother filming themselves shooting pigs and fucking up turtles and raping cannibal women and whatnot
no fucking sense
Rollerball - 2/5
In a LOT of ways I respect this movie. It set up a ridiculously cool fictional sport, and for the 70s it really looked realistic. Like they were actually playing the sport, which must have been hard to train people to do given it's really dangerous rollerskating around some fast moving motorcycles fighting over a heavy ass metal ball. I would love the movie just for that, but sadly most of the movie is spent in some really strangely edited out of game sequences about corporations having too much power and trying to find out some mystery about why they want our main hero to quit the sport, which is really disappointing when you do learn the answer.
What I liked:
-Great choreography
-Really inventive sport that I would just LOVE to see a videogame made out of
What I didn't like:
-Majority of the movie is spent looking at a really lame uncreative dystopia
-The movie is supposed to show a subtle move to insanity the sport takes, but with only 3 games, the insanity just kinda instantly happens
-Really sloppy scenes inbetween rollerball games that both mess up video and audio wise
I cannot stress enough how amazing this movie would have been if it just took out most of the filler and showed us more games.
Gonna watch Dead Zone and Carrie, which one first?
EDIT:
AND pet sematary
The Truman Show 9/10
Its such a great movie, and its my third time watching it. Only bad thing was its ending, I hate cliffhangers.

YOU have never seen The Truman Show?
wow
A ticket is 10 euros here.
Reservoir Dogs is better.
Inferior Script/Acting.
Still awesome but that's just my judgement. Also I didn't think Tim Roth's American accent was well put on, so it threw me off the pace a little bit.

Truman Show is awesome.

Watched The Grey Zone.
Pretty powerful stuff. Very worthy performances. Steve Buscemi and Harvey Keitel being the most popular but most notibly was David Arquette's performance. Heart-breaking holocaust movie overall.
9/10
Collateral
8.7
It came on TV and my dad said that its a pretty good movie, so I watched it.
It was indeed a pretty good movie.

You just know it'll be a under-par gimmick horror movie. Same with The Omen remake when it was released 6/6/06
I am a strict movie-critic. I very rarely gave anything a score this high, buuuuut -
9/10 for Reign Over Me - a serious drama with Adam Sandler.
Knowing Adam Sandler as a comedian I simply had to see this thing, expecting his role to feel out of place in the cold environment of drama.
I can't say anything other then that he nailed it. He really did, his role as a childish, but damaged individual (probably suffering from PDST) after his wife and three children died in 9/11 was sublime. The casting all around was sublime.
It is a powerful movie that really plays with your emotions. I'm a typical dude of the 21st century - desensitized and hard as rock. But I can't lie, I did shed two man-tears, which is more then I have in the last two years combined.
The character development is great, though some may argue it's stretched out a bit. I wouldn't. Personally I thought the pacing was perfect. These didn't feel like generic actors. The people in this movie felt like real people, not text-bites of ink from a script or a book. I'd make a long, in-depth review, but I think I'll cut it short because there's really only one thing I can express regarding this movie;
If you like strong movies, you are going to like this one.

Really good, funny, and this is the best ever:
"Kiddie Ride Operator: Hey, kid, no eating on the ride, blue shirt.
Kid: Suck it, douchebag!" (the kid is 9 or 10)
Also fucking Eddie Murphy.
10/10? really?

I agree that it's a great movie, but I love the ending and it's perfect that you don't know what happens next.
