I fucking love that movie for all the wrong reasons. It's such a tasteless film and it never apologizes for it.
There are endless reasons why it's bad, but there are endless reasons why it's awesome. :v:
Freddy Got Fingered.
I said I needed to lay OFF the hilariously bad movies, not see more! I mean, I just watched the trailer for Bio-dome. I just KNOW that I'll need something non-horrendous for a while before I give myself a brain hemorrhage.
Elephant - 2/10 Unnecessarily long and tedious. By the end of it I wanted the fucking kids to die.
Elephant - 2/10 Unnecessarily long and tedious. By the end of it I wanted the fucking kids to die.
I didn't care for it too. I can appreciate a little of what Elephant's trying to do. Like the other movies of Gus Van Sant's Death trilogy it's trying to deglorify violence by portraying it as flatly realistic as possible. In Last Days the protagonist Not Kurt Cobain spends his last hours just sort of wandering around his house until he dies alone and quiet. In Gerry the two guys lost in the desert spend most of the movie just doing that. There was a big media uproar after the shootings at Columbine, which was the main inspiration for Elephant, and everyone was blaming the kid's voilent behaviour on violent video games and metal music and such, and I guess this movie was just trying to kick all that attention in the balls by showing the day as just these sad series of events with little to no insight. In some Hollywood movie these would be very melodramatic and phony so I really do appreciate that the director is doing something different and I am glad that these movies are such a unique experience. Unfortunately it's unique cuz it's like watching paint dry. By not really going so in depth in these topics and situations it's just really boring. It's more of a movie to think about. I have gained more appreciation after thinking back on it, but I really don't wanna sit through it again. [editline]14th November 2011[/editline]
Boring as hell film. 70% of it was just silent walking.
Hey it's fuckin' Michael Bay compared to Gerry.

Good lord, I'd kill myself if I had to sit through an entire movie like that.
It's like being lost in a real desert!
A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas. 9/10 I love this type of comedy and adding Amir from College Humor was an added bonus. Also contained nudity which is always a bonus for me :v:
Tampopo - 4/5 really funny and mildly bizarre Japanese movie, mostly about food. anyone from lmao pics would probably have seen the gif from this movie of a man and woman transferring an egg between their mouths... it gets weirder too. but mostly it's more of a light hearted movie, not something with much shock value. I loved it.
Click (2006) - 10/10 One of those movies that start off annoyingly goofy and silly. Then out of fucking nowhere, takes you completely off-guard and stabs you in the goddamn heart with a knife. Go watch it now.
The Fighter (2010) 8.5/10 I got a kick out of it.
Elephant - 2/10 Unnecessarily long and tedious. By the end of it I wanted the fucking kids to die.
Zero day is a much better film if you want to watch something about a school shoot up.
Click (2006) - 10/10 One of those movies that start off annoyingly goofy and silly. Then out of fucking nowhere, takes you completely off-guard and stabs you in the goddamn heart with a knife. Go watch it now.
boy that film nearly made me cry
Watched Glengarry Glen Ross a couple of days ago. It's pretty much just the play performed in front of a camera, it isn't anything special to actually look at but the performances are brilliant. 8/10.
I saw Tyrannosaur on Sunday. Jesus Christ probably one of the grimmest and most bleak films I've ever seen. It gets a 9/10 because it was written and directed brilliantly by Paddy Considine. The violence is sporadic rather than frequent, but when it's there it's so uncomfortable to watch. I just wish someone would make a film that depicts the North or the midlands in a positive light for once

'Hey, look at me, I'm being silly woo AW TRAGEDY TRAGEDY!' Fuck you Adam Sandler.
Elephant - 2/10 Unnecessarily long and tedious. By the end of it I wanted the fucking kids to die.
Elephant is amazing. It actually let's you go inside school and watch the whole thing as a student. You probably watched it impatiently waiting for it to end, but if you actually give it a chance, it can be a really cool experience.

Wait, I do that every day. [editline]15th November 2011[/editline] The only reason I hated it so much was that there was over an HOUR of meaningless tediousness. I know that it was meant to give you an idea of the characters and how they are just normal kids, but it was a bit excessive.
Yeah Elephant is a pretty boring film. I understand the idea of the film but do we really have to see them walk and just talk about things that aren't even interesting? I mean, [sp]when the shooting happens, I don't even care about any of the characters dying because they're all so boring[/sp]

I will watch either "La Vie En Rose" or "United 93". I know I'll enjoy them.
Just watched Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia. Probably a 7.5/10 - I want to give it higher because it was so badass, but I'm not sure how good it was on a technical level. I really enjoyed it. Potentially the best title ever, too.
The Last King of Scotland; 7.5/10 Crazy bastards, both of them. I was anticipating a massive fuckup from the start and every stupid move made me cringe.
The Big Kahuna 8/10
tower-heist-poster.jpg
Well known Hollywood actors across the board, then some massive black chick no one knows. Weird choice.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - 8/10 Very entertaining and visually great. Gets silly towards the end though. [editline]16th November 2011[/editline] Well, more so.
Gets silly towards the end though.
what does the movie about giant food falling from the sky only get silly towards the end.
