I think the reason why he over acted is because that's how theatre works. pretty much every single bit of theatre i've seen they sort of over act in a way. i think every character in the movie over acted at least to some degree.

A pleasant surprise actually. At first it looks like the avarage dumb childrens movie, but underneath it hides a wonderful love story, drama and very funny and original jokes. The concept of talking animals is used a lot these days, but in this movie it really works and helps the story and atmosphere in delivering a really enjoyable and original movie. I recommend it to everyone out there, old and young.
