On the subject of best and worst movies of 2011, might I suggest Apollo 18 as one of the worst?
thank you.
It was better than Jack and Jill. Everything is better than Jack and Jill. It is easily the best film on that top ten list.

I don't think that list was rating them in order of good-ness.

I got that part - but sales should correlate with quality slightly at least. Not have the best at the bottom, and second worse at top.
Also, when will Adam Sandler hurry up and die. Seriously. He has had a few good hits (Click, Waterboy and Happy Gilmore are great) but the majority of the movies he stars in are fucking awful. I hope Jack and Jill makes everyone realize that, and that as a result, he is publicly hung in Hollywood.
Sex and the city 10/10
I like how there are rich bitches showing how amazing it is to be rich, it makes me feel sad how poor I am

what a revolutionary thought!
just discovered - success and popularity don't equate to quality. more at 9.
Cowboys & Aliens
7/10

The worst movie I've seen this year is Jean-Luc Godard's Film Socialisme.
Well I didn't actually watch like, the actual movie. I watched this trailer for it where the entire movie is sped up so it only lasts like, four minutes long.

I dunno if that's cheating or not but Ken Russell once said that he had been glad that home video had been invented so he can just fast-forward through the movies and save time so according to him watching this video is still as valid as watching the actual movie.
Anyway the movie looks dull, incoherent, and boring which is a shame because Godard pretty much invented cool films with Breathless. Watch that and you'll see where Tarintino gets his juice.
2001 : A Space Odyssey - 10/10
Cracking sci-fi film, though this face describes most of the last 20-30 minutes for me

I rate it 9.5/10 -It's not a work of Shakespeare but it is the most entertaining, crazy-awesome rollercoaster of a movie I've ever watched.
Animated by hand and amazingly detailed- I watched it entirely through a second time the same day, continually going frame-by-frame and soaking it all in.

I heard about it here (.mp3 download link), a really great review by a podcast I listen to. Give it a listen in the background as you browse!
PS: No English dub released as of yet AFAIK, not that it's really a hinderance in a primarily action-movie.
Carriers 6/10
Kind of boring, an average movie. Not to say I didn't like it and the fact that I was watching zombie/infection movies all vacation probably dulled the effect, but it really didn't prove any different than the billions of other "infection" based movies out there.
I just saw 50/50.
Very good film, I'd give it a 9 out of 10.
Drive: 9/10
one of my favorite films of the year. incredibly soundtrack, aesthetic and acting.
Hugo: 10/10
It was directed by Martin fucking Scorsese. Plus, it had Chloe Moretz!
I recommend everyone to watch this.
I don't know. Ok, it's directed by Scorsese but it looks like a very generic children's movie. Some kids running around a trainstation with some key.
I think I'll pass.

Well it is his first movie with pretty much no anger driven characters.
Prince of Darkness (1986)
Golden year of movies
This is my top favourite horror movie, ever

forgot to add 10/10
The Mummy
9/10
Warrior
8/10
I really loved this. It was a lot more emotional than I would have thought. The end fight is excruciating, you don't know who to root for and the whole thing is just so emotion driven. The best fights always are.
Amazing performances by Edgerton and Hardy to boot.
The Muppets
8/10
Even though the story felt familiar, I enjoyed a lot of the humor. Great film.
Red State
5/10
Too Many Shit Talking.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
10/10.
Easily one of the best romance film ever made.
Die Hard. Greatest Christmas film ever

Just finished this one myself. I give it 8/10. The story is subtle but some of the images are brutal. The main character is dark and understated but shows enough delicacy to make you feel a connection to him. Highly recommended.
Same director as Bronson which was the finest watch of its year.

Anybody seens 'Anonymous' yet about who really wrote Shakespeare's work? The trailers looked interesting and the star is Rhys Ifans which is usually a good thing. I'd like to know what the comrades thought.
Red State

Too many shit talking?
eh?
Robocop, for the 50th time.
10/10 no question, I fucking love that movie.
Batman and robin
10/10
Really love the costumes. And the cool puns.
50/50
7/10
it was enjoyable, although predictable. it was well written and often quite sad. with strong and likeable lead performances by seth rogan and joseph gordon levitt and some heavy cancer themes it stood out from your average romcom, though don't be fooled, it is a romcom. just, one with a lot more depth and themes of mortality too.
