Seven Pounds
7/10
It was okay. Great performance by Will Smith though.
There's a release which alters the movie into chronological order
why would you even
it was so good though
that just ditches the whole point of the movie
The movie was a total blast for me; I kept switching the characters between good&bad. Sometimes it felt like Johhny G was the real friend, sometimes like he was the murderer. Then the movie ends with a total blast, turning the whole plot upside down because [sp] the guy actually killed his own wife [/sp]
That was so damn good that it made me watch Solaris and liked it just as much as Stalker. Now that you've reminded me about it, I want to watch my 3rd tarkovski movie. Wich one should I choose?
The Mirror is one of my favourite films. It doesn't really have one fixed plot. It's more like a collage of various scenes from Russia during war times. Andrei Rublev is one you should also check it. It's a biopic about the medieval painter Andrei Rublev and it paints a very good portrait of Russia during those times.
The Elephant Man (1980) Uh like 8.5/10? Really great film. Seriously touching. Fantastic acting on Anthony Perkins (Dr Frederik Treeves, the surgeon who cares for Merrick) and John Hurt, who played John merrick, the "Elephant Man".
Based on a true story, and while I'm having a bit trouble finding some actual information on the accuracy of the film to reality, from what I can tell it's reasonably close to the truth, except from that in reality he actually went into freak shows by his own choice and was not owned and treated terribly. But then it wouldn't be that interesting a film.
Absolutely fantastic movie. Also, despite being made in 1980 it was filmed in black and white, which was actually a really good call imo.

still watching movies from the imdb top 250, and all i have to say about this one is 'whoa, what?'
How curious, I just watched that too.
Thank God I was sober because I'd hate to have watched this after a few drinks or otherwise intoxicated.
Blade Runner: Final Cut

The greatest sci-fi film of all time.
Strange and mesmerising, there's nothing else like it.

Do they show how he became the elephant man? That's the bit I'm most interested in.

[sp]he was born that way.[/sp]

Some chick had sex with an elephant and they had a kid, are you SERIOUS?
I thought he was bitten by a radioactive elephant.
But seriously, I thought his mum got sat on by an elephant when she was pregnant and it squashed his face a bit. When he was born he looked that way and the doctor was like "can you think of any times you've been sat on by a heavy animal" because he was trying to work out why he was like that and she was like "yeah and elephant" and the doctor said "ok, let's call him elephant baby for now and work our way up as he gets older".
Just watched 12 angry men. What a great movie.
It was a truly smart film, interesting and thought provoking.
12/10
The thing made a lot of really shit decisions in that movie that cost it an easy trip out of Antarctica that it would have gotten had it actually been discreet like it's supposed to be
Fuck the 2011 movie and the hacks that wrote it
National Security
9.25/10
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind 10/10
what can i say, loved every second of it
funfact: the scene where Jim carrey is talking with the doctor at his desk [sp]in the dream[/sp] wasnt edited, he had to switch spots and clothes incredibly fast behind the camera
The Skin I Live In 9/10
I found this movie really good. I recommend it.
12 angry men
10/10
Loved every second of it. Great movie.
^ easily one of the best movies of all time.
I saw it in the IMDB a while ago but the fact that it was black and white put me off since at the time I just finished watching the blob and that ruined black and white movies for me. I've learned my lesson now, no more generalisation of movies

Good. There are more shit colour films than shit black and white films.

Bad as in good 'bad'? Badass? I might just have to rate your post dumb if you meant BAD.
I am never going to label a movie "Best movie of all time".
Because I always end up watching an even better one and repeating myself.

That's what they thought when he was born because they thought he was damaged physically and that his mother mentally impressioned the birth (they still believed in maternal impression when he was alive. Mid to late 1800s.) but it's become accepted that it wasn't something that happened while he was in the womb, it's several diseases kind of like gigantism (but not), one that makes the skin leathery and grey (like an elephant) etc

Labeling something as "the best" is dumb. There are different styles of movies. If someone asked me what movie was my favorite, I'd probably say 20 different names.
And besides, they are constantly making new movies, maybe there's a masterpiece in the works right now
A Clockwork Orange
1971
Director: Stanley motherfuckin' Kubrick
Starring: Malcolm McDowell, Patrick Magee and Michael Bates
Rating: 10/10
It doesn't get much better than this, folks. The story is great, the characters are amazing, it has a nice blend of humor and seriousness, and at the end, it really makes you think about a lot of things.
