One of my favorite films of all time. Glad you liked it, man! Come back to me whenever you want another recommendation.
I have your list saved on my computer, man. I'm going through it and watching everything in it I haven't seen. Thanks for showing me. [editline]15th December 2011[/editline]
Just watched Fear and loathing in Las Vegas, jesus that shit was bad.
Here's my theory: When you watched it, you just watched it. You didn't WATCH it. Watch it again, but pay attention to it. Close attention. It's a great film. Oh, and if you're cool with it, watch it while you are high. It's even better then. (Props to TheFilmSlacker for telling me that.)
Just watched Fear and loathing in Las Vegas, jesus that shit was bad.
You'll like The Hangover, much more appropriate for your stature. [editline]15th December 2011[/editline] watched: The Bourne Supremacy I prefer it to the first, although it's a LOT more about the man's journey than the first, it's a heck of an experience. 8/10
Thank You For Smoking 10/10
I've just finnished watching Clockwork Orange minutes ago and oh what an experience. And I deffinetly enjoyied the powerfull brittish accents the actors have in the movie. [sp] the part at the end where he takes the phych test; it means he was transormed into accepting bad ideologies , right? [/sp] FilmSlacker please do send me that list on my PM.
still gotta watch Clockwork Orange :<
Se7en (1995)- 8/10 Pretty awesome film. Interesting story and a really good antagonist. It's about 2 detective chasing a serial killer who kills people he deems guilty of breaking the seven deadly sins, with an ironic murder method (I personally think this should have actually been expanded on. It was kinda just touched on in the film.) worth watching for sure tho
1. Star Wars Trilogy (1977, 1980, 1983) and The Lord of The Rings Trilogy
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and The Two Towers are both better than Goodfellas?
my friend said the old The Thing sucks and that the new version is awesome
same here then we went to watch the 2011 movie and left midway through [editline]15th December 2011[/editline] say what you want about the old version, but she at least stuck through that one to the end

I always have trouble when making lists. I'd probably have to do two, one of my favourite films and one of the 'best' films I've seen. There'd be a lot of crossover between the two, mind you.
I can never make a top whatever list. I'm too indecisive. That and I find it impossible to compare completely different movies.
Rashemon Japanese film from the 1950's by acclaimed director Akira Kurosawa. It tells a story from the perspectives of all characters involved in a tragic event and makes you keep changing your mind as to who the victim and the criminal is. Kurosawa is the master of cinema, he has no rival. Seven Samurai is considered his finest picture.
That's what they thought when he was born because they thought he was damaged physically and that his mother mentally impressioned the birth (they still believed in maternal impression when he was alive. Mid to late 1800s.) but it's become accepted that it wasn't something that happened while he was in the womb, it's several diseases kind of like gigantism (but not), one that makes the skin leathery and grey (like an elephant) etc
What about the trunk?
Great movie. Try his later work.
Seen them all, a truly wonderful storyteller. Kagemusha was a letdown but Ran was a return to form. Dersu Uzala was a touching film. Throne of blood was another personal fav, appreciated it more when I read about the filming technique.
Thank You For Smoking 10/10
rong this isn't how you rate movies
I'm gonna watch the first lord of the rings movie last time I tried (when I was 7 or something), I slept halfway through it, because that shit was so long. It even came in 2 VHS tapes
Goodfellas (1990) - 9/10, loved it
[sp]Poor Joe Pesci. :([/sp]
I didn't even know Lord of the Rings was released on VHS...
Just watched True Grit (the 2010 version) for the second time. Very good film. The story is great, the acting is superb, the cinematography is excellent and the writing is fantastic. 9.5/10
sherlock holmes: a game of shadows seems to be getting terrible reviews because of the 'bad cgi' and plot holes (which i can agree with to a certain extent). but overall it was entertaining to watch. i love the ... sort of 'gentlemen humor/sarcasm' or whatever to call it. not as good as the first sherlock holmes, but i liked it.
i can't do a favorite films list, as i'm just unable to find a true number one. it's like trying to make a top ten 80s films.
Crank: 2/10, oh god that was bad.
LOTR: The Fellowship of The Ring - 9/10 Starts off a bit slow, and it stays that way at times, but it managed to keep me entertained. Acting was great for the most part, and even the CGI was good, for a 2001 movie. Overall, it's an awesome movie. To think that I still need to watch the other 2 movies, this one took so long, jesus. I don't think I've ever watched such a long movie [editline]16th December 2011[/editline] I'm gonna watch goodfellas next
The Sitter - 6.5 out of 10. Maybe even a 7. I'm a fan of Jonah Hill.
Crank: 2/10, oh god that was bad.
The fuck are you talking about, Crank was amazing. Crank 2 was meh but the first one was awesome.
Man on the moon 8.3/10 unique movie
Zulu 9/10 A really great classic film from the late 60's. I always enjoyed the picture and look of the film from that era. The film its self is awesome, cast perfectly picked and played. I suggest anyone that likes war movies or just wanting a good sunday flic to give this movie a go. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058777/ ( it is in color btw )
You've..... seen them all.. :pwn: I've only seen about 6 of them. :-(
I kind of got lucky on that one. I was up late and just happened to catch the Hidden Fortress which blew me away. The next day at my friends house I just happened to mention this life chaging filmgasm I had the previous night and it just so happened his dad was a huge Kurosawa fan and had a big Criterion box set of his work. He lent me one per week and I'm still not sure if he lent me them to share his love of film with me or get in my pants. Some of the lesser known ones I had to track down online. Later tonight I'm watching The Battle of Algiers. Heard its a great flic. Theres a lot of chatter about Drive and the Batman films here, nice films but I'm hoping to discover some of the hidden movies here, dig deep comrades, give me some treasure. Here's another recommendation: the dreamers Bernardo Bertolucci's 2003 film with Eva Green where a brother and sister in 1960's Paris have an American Student move in with them. I won't tell anymore but its one for the film lovers. This is a film you get lost in but make sure you dig out the full uncut version.
