Children of Men
9/10
Inspired long shot sequences, there was not one point here where I wasn't engaged in the movie. Clive Owen has surprised.
The director is quite inspired too.
Green Lantern
7/10
And now you're rating green lantern on the same level as you did apocalypse now
How can you even sort of like that movie
i actually didn't expect to like limitless, it looked a bit shit. and while it wasn't a great film i still quite enjoyed it, and it had particularly nice video editing effects
I had the same expectations and was pleasantly surprised, I think I'm being a bit generous with a 9, but I actually enjoyed it unlike most of this year's films..
I love superheroes
I love superheroes
Ok but it wasn't even a good superhero flick. Not to mention that it got so much shit wrong that you should like it even less considering you're such a big fan of comics
I love superheroes
Gee I could've never figured that out myself

Particularly like the scene where the baby is born and everyone just stops fighting and shuts the fuck up. Particularly prevalent being the commander of the British Forces assaulting the building who actually reaches out to touch the baby.

I'm not going to lie, that's a point where I get goosebumps. Some movies dig deep like that. :smugdog:
The Thing
9/10
Should've watched it long time ago, anyways awesome movie, great concept, cool creatures.
Sometimes the acting was not at it's best, therefor I give it 9/10.
Super Troopers
7/10
Found it humorous but the plot sucked.

I laughed when it basically presumed that hell was soundtracked by Tiny Tim

No Country For Old Men
I don't know what to say about this film good/bad either way. Some of the plot is pretty vague, I wound up with a few questions when I finished watching, though the sense of ignorance adds to the general ambiguity of the scenario.
Worth watching, I thought.

The book ends the same way.
Really, the story is about Tommy Lee Jones' character and not the ones played by Bardem or Brolin.
Dirty Harry, for the millionth time 10/10
Threads - 7/10
It's a film about what would have happened if the USSR and NATO did end up having a nuclear war in 1982, from the point of view of two Sheffield families. To be honest, the portrayal of Sheffield AFTER the nukes was more accurate :v:
Anyway, I liked it but I didn't like it. The first half of the movie is basically the families going about their business as usual, just regular people, with the news reports in the background. While I sort of see the point of this section of the movie, it just got on my nerves since it was so tedious. Eventually the guy from the city council is introduced into the story. He is tasked with leading and managing the local authority from the basement of Shi- Sheffield's town hall. He has to sort out all the logistics for the area, and it shows how hard it would be to organise so quickly.
Anyway, bombs go boom, people get blown up. One (of pretty much two) main character is offed in the first detonation, making his presence in the story pretty much redundant. Most of his family gets merked, with only his mum and dad surviving due to a terribly hastily constructed shelter in their living room. His mum ends up well crispy. The worst part of the movie was the cat :(
I'm going a bit off track here. Basically I like it for its realistic and REALLY FUCKING BLEAK portrayal of the aftermath of a nuclear war, displaying how ineffective the plans created by the British govt. would have been, and the chaos of organising reparations and what not. I didn't like it for throwing in characters that nobody cares about - They're just average northerners, but I suppose that's the point of it.
Also, I'm trying to remember a book similar in premise, but set in a fictional Bradford (With a slightly different name). Any ideas?
Doomsday (2008)
Jesus christ what. It looked pretty promising up to 1 hour, then it just starts getting sillier and sillier. And I don't even know how I sat through the last 20 minutes...
I give it a 4/10
That movie's not about seriousness and being deep and philosophical and shit. It was meant to be insane and cliche-filled.
I love superheroes
Do you play City of Heroes/Champions Online/DC Universe? Just curious.

I remember watching this movie at a friend's house pissed as a penguin. Was pretty good.
Major league 2
All I can say is Meh.
Battle L.A
4/10
So much potential, such a shitty outcome. Shitty soundtrack, shitty script. The effects were half-good, the aliens themselves were boring as fuck.
[sp]And it had the worst god damn ending ever, seriously, in every alien invasion movie humans win, it's getting really old and very predictable. I am yet to see an alien invasion movie where they actually win and don't get completely assraped by humans[/sp]
being on drugs turns life's saturation up :D
no not those effects, the other effects, like seeing a pill go down his throat from a 2d perspective, the zooming down the street, shit like that
The Green Hornet
6/10
That was stupid, Seth Rogen could have been a lot funnier.
