Rubber: 8/10. Great movie. Humorous and ridiculous but not so much that its stupidly so, very original plot, good camera work. Also, the main character is a psychokinetic serial killer tire. [editline]11th July 2011[/editline] And it's a great analyzation of Hollywood absurdity and the viewing masses.
I liked it a lot. Better than the piece of garbage that was 5. (it's not that bad.. but I think it's the worst) [editline]11th July 2011[/editline] It was lackluster, but there was a lot more darkness and depth surrounding the characters. It wasn't really meant to be a "good old fun movie" in any way. Weird.
6 left out a lot of important details, that's why i dislike it the most.
Fifth Element 6.5/10 was pretty cool, not one of my all time favourites though Letters From Iwo Jima 9/10 pretty moving, good characters, enjoyed it Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan 7/10 Was great, always like watching star trek movies Star Trek: The Motion Picture 9/10 Love the "up again an unbeatable lifeform, we need to use our brains" thing Going to watch Akira 12 Monkeys Blade Runner Slither Tonight [editline]12th July 2011[/editline]
The Room - 1000/10 (Best movie ever made) Starship Troopers - 7/10 (Really great campy science fiction satire movie, visual effects held up well or being 14 years old, good going Tippett Studio) Evolution - 8/10 (Underrated as fuck, has some great visuals for being from 2001, another Tippett Studio movie) Wanted - 3/10 (total piece of shit, only reason I gave it a 3 is because it had some good visual effects sometimes, but other then that its fucking awful and not even related anyway to the source material.)
Aw shit I read your 7/10 rating for starship troopers as starship troopers 2, I was about to grill you Great movie.
Lately: Harry Potter 1-6, watched them all before going to watch DH part 2. I love them all equally and the hate towards the darker tone is just dumb. The books turned dark for a good reason; the audience and the characters, aswell as the world, matured. The movies of course follows that. 1: 9/10 2: 8/10 3: 8/10 4: 7/10 (The worst one, it's very much a middle point of the movies, the book is amazing) 5: 8/10 6: 9/10 And for the books, make that: 1-7: 10/10. :v:
6 left out a lot of important details, that's why i dislike it the most.
That's true. But I thought they hit points well with it, not trying to go overboard and make it "grander" than it actually is.
people from school wanted me to go see HP with them I really dislike all the HP movies, all magic and spells and stuff is not my bag
That's true. But I thought they hit points well with it, not trying to go overboard and make it "grander" than it actually is.
They should've kept Peeves in. I loved how he was in the books and the first HP game.
They should've kept Peeves in. I loved how he was in the books and the first HP game.
Yeah but you realise that would have made it more interesting. Of course we can't have that. :v:
God damn you movie industry! [editline]12th July 2011[/editline] Here guys, have the most shiver worthy song from the movies: It seriously makes me shiver something furious.
Terry Gilliam should have directed that series. Would've been masterful.
If Terry did direct them, they'd be alittle of a fuck fest. :v:
It would be chaos, but good chaos. :v:
To be honest, when I watched the Goblet of Fire in the cinema, I cried when [sp]Cedric[/sp] (Spoiler'd just in case) died and Harry brought him back to the arena. Shit was fucking sad, they really did a good job on that.
They did kind of get it right with styles in the third. That was artistic as heck.
Terry Gilliam should have directed that series. Would've been masterful.
yeah except that terry gilliam sucks and prefers style over substance seriously 12 monkeys is his only good film and the worst parts of that movie are where it's stylized to fuck honestly brazil was a huge piece of unwatchable shit and so was dr parnassus. i nearly walked out of that movie. style should NEVER EVER EVER be put before substance
yeah except that terry gilliam sucks and prefers style over substance seriously 12 monkeys is his only good film and the worst parts of that movie are where it's stylized to fuck honestly brazil was a huge piece of unwatchable shit and so was dr parnassus. i nearly walked out of that movie. style should NEVER EVER EVER be put before substance
If you don't want style or art. Read a book. [editline]12th July 2011[/editline] If you watch the first Potter, fair enough the story is classic but it's a dull dud of a movie with literally no unique style at all. Far too obvious.

Eagle Eye 6/10 Watchable but some bits were extremely stupid. The characters were portrayed too much like professional criminals at some points when they were supposed to be two random civilians caught up in a shit storm.
If you don't want style or art. Read a book. [editline]12th July 2011[/editline] If you watch the first Potter, fair enough the story is classic but it's a dull dud of a movie with literally no unique style at all. Far too obvious.
no there's nothing wrong with style. except when it's placed before substance. or used instead of substance. [editline]12th July 2011[/editline]
Life of Brian, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
i forgot fear and loathing was terry. ok, two good movies (i rewatched the monty phtyon ones because i liked them as a kid and i liked the meaning of life but the holy grail and life of brain are so unfunny i had to stop). [editline]12th July 2011[/editline] seriously. same with kung pow. used to love that shit. when i was like 12. they're just not funny anymore.
no there's nothing wrong with style. except when it's placed before substance. or used instead of substance.
Fair enough, you probably mean "style when it's not necessary and adds nothing to the plot". I accept that but it's fun don't you think?
Half Blood Prince turned a lot of people off of the series, sadly.
half of the books were way too fucking long and half blood prince was one of the worst offenders the movies thankfully managed to trim most of the bullshit off though
you are a funny guy you can't take depth in books of all things
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest 9/10
Die Hard 8/10 Children of men 9/10
Got around to watching K-Pax with a friend yesterday. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. 8.5/10
My reaction to this movie: 9/10 Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Loved the effects, absolutely dug it. Truly incredible, I'm so fucking confused but I loved it. Going to watch it again soon. I think I'm going to watch the crazy psychedelic bit on mushrooms next time I get some, really there are a huge bunch of shit I don't get, but I expected this.
HP 1,2, and 4 were good. 3 and 5 simply mutilated the plot too badly for me to watch, and I still have to see 6 and 7.1
HP 1,2, and 4 were good. 3 and 5 simply mutilated the plot too badly for me to watch, and I still have to see 6 and 7.1
3 was great. mutilated the plot is not a viable claim.
I never read the books so I am content with the movies.
still not understanding what all the hate on PoA is by adaptation standards, it's the most faithful along with the first two. it's also john william's best HP score. SS comes close, but i still think PoA takes the cake. also, Alfonso Cuaron you motherfuckers.
