Why? Having only seen the first, and snippets of the second, I can easily say I disliked this one more.
The first felt too robotic and uninteresting although I do like the story because I read them as a kid.
Prisoner Of Azkaban kind of brought out the fantasy theatrics that lacked in probably all the other ones and simply went in different directions and made the story a lot more interesting to unfold.
It might not mean a whole lot to you if you cared more about the delivery of the story, but I personally thought the experience was pretty good for what they had to work with.
I thought it was a terrible experience with a horrible copout plot device.
I can't believe this.
You actually like the third one more than the first two? :colbert:
Yeah, the first two didn't capture anything unique from the art in the book. I'm sorry because they are good movies and of course they'll end up as classics but I personally feel like the experience was all too rigid and precise.
The fact people like the third one more than the two first is because they were pretty much exact copies of the books, so several scenes got pretty boring. And, the second one is almost just a copy of the first one.
I'm with you bro. I think they caught on with the later ones but I haven't seen the last two.
Is Ip Man 2 just as good as Ip man 1?
nah
Is Ip Man 2 just as good as Ip man 1?
It's okay, but does nothing as an expansion of the first.
Repo Men, 7/10 good idea, and half of the movie was good. But the ending ruined it.
Winter's Bone: 8/10.
Pretty good movie about a girl trying really hard to keep her family living, worth seeing once at least.
Going to watch Alien tonight, a friend lent me his boxset. I know the first two are worth watching, but what of the third and fourth?
Also, going to see Harry Potter tomorrow. I read the first four books after seeing the first film when it came out, and saw the first three films in theaters but then sort of drifted away from the series. I didn't fall out with it or anything, I just lost interest.
I decided to watch/re-watch the films before this last one, over the last two weeks. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing this one now - I'll let you know what I thought of it, and we can see how my opinion differs from those of you that have read the book just out of interest.
The Prisoner of Azkaban is probably my favourite, by the way.
Apparently Aliens 3 and 4 are garbage.

Assembly cut of 3 is good.
and the whole time travelling shit in that movie was such a copout
i find it dumb how Hermornae says "bad things happen to wizards who meddle with time" when they're using it to save the day, but it's okay for her to use it to take extra classes.

Yeah but she's being sexist. She's a witch. :v:
Battle: LA
I expected to see a scifi disaster movie like independence day, what I got was a war movie but with the enemy soldiers being alien. I thought that the action was great, there was no unnecessary casting and the character motivations were pretty basic though they did interest me enough to actually see it through. Overall it wasn't a charming sort of movie like independence day, but it wasn't extraordinary like District 9 was either.
7/10
-5 for being so average and forgettable
+1 because at least it did something with the concept of an alien race (to an extent)
+1 because in spite of all the bad things, I enjoyed watching the movie
King's Speech - 10/10
Transformers 3 - 9/10
Just watched Transformers: Dark of the moon. 7/10.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
10/10
Great movie. Split into 2 awesome parts. And had an awesome ending to conclude this wonderful series.
Adaptation - 8/10.
Transformers: Dark of the moon. 7/10.
wtf r u doin
Rango - 9/10
Surprisingly dark for what was marketed as a kid's movie, and apart from some kids movie cliches it was great. The visuals were absolutely superb too, and they even managed to get the man with no name in there.
Watched Alien. I'd probably give it an 8/10. I feel that I may be being a bit harsh there to be honest, though. Anyway, I enjoyed it a lot. I'll watch Aliens tomorrow.
Lords of the Rings extended trilogy - 9/10
Enjoyed watching these movies.
Insidious
5/10
very cheesy
The Escapist - 8/10.

Good to see Brian Cox strutting his stuff in a leading role despite his age.

If you like the Alien series watch them anyway

That's just a couple of small changes and extra scenes thrown in, Alien 3 isn't the best in the series but it's a good watch for fans nontheless
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt.2 : 10/10
Insidious
5/10
very cheesy
But the comedy elements were so well written !
Apparently Aliens 3 and 4 are garbage.
Alien Resurrection is my fucking favorite of them all.
Tis' slander to talk down on the fourth of the series, as it was executed superbly.
Now I have to go watch it again..
Insidious - 6/10
There were good moments where they know how to make you jump, but that is mainly consisting of the soundtrack, not the visual aspect. Not the mention the rather inappropriate comedic moments that they tried to stuff into a horror film and a number of other cheesed scenes.

yeah but all the changes are for the better. it makes a lot of the characters and their actions make more sense by giving them all more screen time and hence a little more depth
and there's also one pretty fucking important change, [sp]in the regular cut, the try to catch the alien and fail. in the assembly cut, they actually succeed, but one of the inmates goes crazy (well, crazier) and 'frees the dragon'[/sp]
