Forest Gamp was on TV last night, so I watched it once again... Great movie, I'd give it a 8.5/10
It was just on T.V wasn't it? An incredible film. What did you think of it in more detail?
I think what I especially liked was the fact that it didn't feel like the characters were having their mental illnesses used as the basis of their characterization, which made them much more realistic, and combined with the great acting it made for some of the most sympathetic and believeable charcters I've ever seen in a film. I think that's the main thing that made it so good. That and Randle was one of those characters that's just constantly fun to watch whatever he's doing.
Alien 3, 5/10
I have to admit the story was quite good but the film was unnecessarily long and couldn't keep a decent pace.
also, the special effects were the worst I have ever seen in a high budget film.
Holy shit, I thought you wrote that you gave the first Alien movie 3,5 out of 10, I nearly had a heart attack. :v:
Die Hard 2
8/10
Not as good as the original but still a good movie in its own right.
Mr. Nobody (2009)
10/10
Holy shit, what a movie.
Couldn't get through it, is it really that good?
Johnny Dangerously, 8/10
Great mob comedy
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
7/10
[sp]They gave the Heston line to Malfoy? Seriously?[/sp]
The Untouchables - 6 / 10
I enjoyed some of this movie, but over all it's a big, cheesy joke. I couldn't take it seriously. The music was really bizarre and repetitive and out of place, the casting was fucked up (for example, the guy who tries to bribe Ness, the guy who plays Nitti or whatever, that assassin who kills Connery, and the guy who uses the bookkeeper as a human shield in the train station), they were all over the top, goofy looking cartoon characters and nobody in the film could act except Connery and DeNiro. Still, there was some decent action and I enjoyed the plot, as silly as some of it played out (50 gunshot wounds and Connery still manages to crawl across the floor and give Ness the info he needs to bust Capone, then conveniently dies immediately after, come on).

9.5/10
In my opinion, one of the greatest, if not the greatest sci fi movie ever made. This movie deserves so much more respect and admiration that it has now, it's not that well known. Combining fabulous acting, believable and realistic storyline and technology, incredible and beautiful scenery, and a soundtrack that gives me the chills. Do yourself a favour, if you're a sci fi fan and you haven't watched this movie, please do. It's one of the best I've ever seen.
Very moving
The Green Lantern
1/10
Pretty much as generic as it gets, brought nothing new to the table. They didn't even try with the story, aliens looked stupid. Dialogue and plot devices were childish. Actually I've seen more complex storylines in films with a target demographic age of 8. Basically it was not so cleverly disguised Ryan Reynolds porn. Don't bother with it.
ryan reynolds porn?? sounds great
Phonebooth 7/10
Really good film, kept me interested for a second time, but I still don't like the ending...

Whad'ya know, I just watched that tonight too.
Same rating as well :D
It's incredible, so nicely done in effects too
love it
Syriana - 7.5/10
Interesting movie, certainly an issue not normally shown. I enjoyed it and got a lot of new ideas out of it but it's not nearly as good as it could have been.

tbh, anything that Danny Boyle works with is great.
except 127 hours.

huh what's wrong with 127 hours
it was way better than sunshine
don't get me wrong, i love sunshine. i just hate the ending. because it's fucking stupid.

Why? because [sp]They succeed?[/sp]
no because [sp]there is a magical crispy dude who has managed to survive for no reason. instead of it being some crazed fellow crew member it opted for some paranormal gay shit[/sp]
it was still okay
yeah the rest of the movie was. the end pretty much killed it though.
First half best half
second half okay
ending good
More like entire movie is good except for the killer reveal which is terrible
I really just didn't hate it as much as you
I mean granted it wasn't ideal but still, the movie was still awesome

127 Hours was boring. I had seen a few documentaries on the kid beforehand, so I knew everything that was going to happen.
The Godfather: Part III
10/10
The best of the Godfather movies in my opinion
The Jacket - 8/10. Wasn't bad, just a little slow at parts.
no because [sp]there is a magical crispy dude who has managed to survive for no reason. instead of it being some crazed fellow crew member it opted for some paranormal gay shit[/sp]
What's paranormal about [sp]Pinbacker[/sp] specifically? I mean, aside from the fact that [sp]he survived off the rest of the crew's share of oxygen and food from the functional ecosystem and his zealous devotion to his delusional mission[/sp].

Are you kidding? [sp]He is burnt to a crisp, impervious to the suns rays somehow, has no provisions, should not be alive. At all. His continued existence made no sense and was fucking retarded. Even if you did somehow try to logically weave it into something that half made sense, it's a dumb plot device. The movie up until this point was a thriller/slasher which was pretty grounded in realism in the context of the film. Instead of it being one of their crew gone mad and we're meant to be in suspense as to who it is, it was a totally different character we've never even seen who shouldn't even be alive. Fucking dumb.[/sp]
