you are the most obnoxious bassist [editline]01:54AM[/editline] ily
I remember playing Seven Nation Army and Fell In Love With a Girl for this school rock thing I was part of last year. SNA was such a simple bassline. I got bored and started tapping octaves during the chorus and solo cuz I felt like it, and pissed off the guy in charge :v:
I'm teaching myself how to play bass, that was the first song I learned. I loved playing it, but it's super easy.
One hit wonder? Bullcrap.
Seven Nation Army is literally the song that put them up. Most people(taking a shot based on a large observation) who know the band only know them because of Seven Nation Army.
Seven Nation Army is literally the song that put them up. Most people(taking a shot based on a large observation) who know the band only know them because of Seven Nation Army.
Except that White Blood Cells was very popular and that's what got them a lot of fame and fanbase and that came out before Elephant, the album where seven nation army appeared on.
Seven Nation Army is literally the song that put them up.
No, the album that put them up was white blood cells. Of course, you were probably still a toddler in 2001 :v: Also, this song It's great.
This one? According to the internet, it's a 64 JB Hutto Montgomery Airline.
Gah... It looks so... chunky.
The Black Keys are better.
Their drumming is better, their more blues based, but the Black Keys can never match the soul and abstract songwriiting that Jack White has mastered. [editline]10:07PM[/editline]
Meg White is a bad drummer, and I like Jack White's The Dead Weather better. To me, WS just seems like a one-hit wonder band.
Dead Weather sucks compared to the White Stripes, maybe you should listen to more than their singles before you say that.
I'm teaching myself how to play bass, that was the first song I learned. I loved playing it, but it's super easy.
Yeah, it's simple as balls, but at the same time it's still fun to play. I rmember the video tripping me the fuck out when I was like 12 or something, too :v: [editline]02:39AM[/editline] Oh, if we're talking guitar/drum power duos, I'm going to have to through in that Japandroids are awesome as well, though I can't say anything about being better
Oh yeah Japandroids rocks :respek: but really, Tweak Bird is the bomb
Seven Nation Army is literally the song that put them up. Most people(taking a shot based on a large observation) who know the band only know them because of Seven Nation Army.
Well that isn't WS fault, that's because societys' look at music is bullshit. Seriously, WS has a unique sound and amazing songs, and when they make one generic arena rock song it gets popular as fuck. Makes me boil.
Dead Weather sucks compared to the White Stripes, maybe you should listen to more than their singles before you say that.
Yup. Jack White is apparently the drummer, isn't he? Why would one of the best guitarists of the aughts not be the guitarist for the band he's in? Also, Alison Mosshart's voice pisses me off. [editline]09:19AM[/editline]
Yeah, it's simple as balls, but at the same time it's still fun to play. By the way, found out the old bass my dad used in college (the one I learned/am learning to play on) is a half size. I just learned the damn intro to Muse's Hysteria and now I realize i'm only half a bassist.
Well I like her in The Kills
So... white stripe fans... you still following jack as he rocks with the raconteurs? I kind of like the raconteurs better, if only for the fact that jack has improved as a musician all around.
Found this picture of everyone's favorite female drummer as a kid. Rate hearts for Meg. [editline]09:43PM[/editline]
So... white stripe fans... you still following jack as he rocks with the raconteurs? Also young Jack.
Dead Weather sucks compared to the White Stripes, maybe you should listen to more than their singles before you say that.
I know you and I have different musical tastes, but you have to agree that a band is only as good as everyone in it. When you have Meg White dragging Jack down, you only receive ok songs. But with a group of people who actually know what they're doing(Dean, LJ, and Alison), Jack's potential is only brought us, allowing him(and the rest) to actually produce good music in time. The band is barely a year old anyway.
I know you and I have different musical tastes, but you have to agree that a band is only as good as everyone in it.
Not always true. Go on youtube and you'll see that there are plenty of (use bass as an example) bassists more proficient than Pete Wentz of fall out boy or Gene Simmons of Kiss, but they may not be able to function as well in a band or write as good of music or lyrics. Meg doesn't drag Jack down because the style of music the White Stripes plays is suited to Meg's drumming. If Keith Moon came back to life and took Meg's spot, Jack would still have him bang on the drums like a caveman because that's how the music works.
Yup. Jack White is apparently the drummer, isn't he? Why would one of the best guitarists of the aughts not be the guitarist for the band he's in? Also, Alison Mosshart's voice pisses me off.
I saw them play live. Don't worry, he plays the guitar half the time
I like them, just dont own any of their music.
If Keith Moon came back to life and took Meg's spot, Jack would still have him bang on the drums like a caveman because that's how the music works.
No he wouldn't. Jack was always a drummer, and is one in The Dead Weather, where he does pretty cool stuff(words from an actual drummer). Jack knows Meg's limit's and probably keeps in mind those said limits when he writes music. I'm pretty sure Meg White writes her own drum parts as well, as most drummers do. If Keith Moon was the White Stripes' new drummer, their direction of music would change, that's for sure.
I saw them play live. Don't worry, he plays the guitar half the time
Oh, good.
Jack White's one of my all time favorite lead singers, up there with Bowie and Mike Patton the music subforum needs more Patton threads
