What are you talking about? I think you went on a little rant there but provided no facts on anything?
Are you kidding? Do you read at a 7th grade level? It was two sentences, simply telling you that maybe you should study a little more about what you are so quick to disregard.
We know for certain that there is no intelligent life in the milky way system, besides us.
when the fuck did we establish this
you realize the milky way galaxy consists of over 400 billion stars each with their own planets orbiting around them?
We've only been able to identify like 90 extrasolar planets
don't spew bullshit you don't know anything about ok

"Always double-check."
If you're going to tell someone that they have no grasp on the information available today then you should give example of your point.
I made a point that at a time we thought that the earth was flat and that was believed to be true by the great minds of Europe. The reason I made that point was to remember to always question the "facts" as given to us.
It was at this point that you stated that i don't know what I'm talking about but gave no facts to your argument.
After looking at your profile though I am going to end this right here. I am not going to debate a 15 year old that can't even bring the debate to the table.
Haven't heard of that one before. The lowest speed of the said Tachyon is the speed of light, I doubt you can bring it down to the speed of light as then its mass gets "real" aka non imaginary.
Now I'm not the person that are able to talk about these kind of stuff. I wish Avon was here :v:
Yeah I kinda meant bringing them down to slower speeds than that, as you stated that would make them "real" mass and we all know traveling faster than the speed of light violates the laws of physics.

Nice job using age as an excuse to quit douche. You said that we knew for a fact that the Earth was flat, when we did not.
We had every reason to believe it was, but the simply fact of the matter is that it was not quantifiable. That is the example, we have quantifiable evidence for something and it is tested hundreds of times then it can be considered fact. It doesn't matter how smart you are, if you have no way to test something, then you will likely believe whatever you see.
This is not the case today, we can synthesis an actual hypothesis and test that hypothesis.
You're dumb. There might be life on a planet 500 light hours away from us, we just don't have the means to know.
Thinking we are the ONLY smart lifeforms in the UNIVERSE would just be plain selfish.
Also remember that the Earth being flat wasn't really wrong, it was just inadequate for larger scales. We still treat the Earth as flat when designing and constructing most buildings, because taking the curvature of the planet into account is pointless most of the time as its effects are negligible, especially when you have to account for terrain irregularities. So for all intents and purposes, the Earth is flat in your immediate area, and because in ancient times the world for most people wasn't that large, it was flat.
Similarly, Newton's laws of universal gravitation are laughably inaccurate for many things, but for the scale of many bodies in this solar system, it's great and it's simple too. So like the Earth being flat, this too is used as an approximation in most simulations involving gravity because the difference between this and real-life usage is insignificant in most cases.
What if
Also, FTL travel might not be completely impossible. Hell, read up Tachyons on Wikipedia, and on another note 100 years about we believed FTSound travel was impossible.

True, tachyons are quite the abnormal particle. However, they are thoroughly hypothetical. Although the math is there for them to exist.
With that said, they are nothing like the baryonic matter we use and are made of. So it is illogical to compare the two in general terms.

I have no doubt that there is life besides us out there. Just too far away to know about it. Hell, it could be a parallel kind of world, meaning, If I were smart here, I'd be dumb their, like alter ego's or something like that.
EDIT: Funfact, some stars are far away enough that we are actually seeing what the were millions of years ago.
Thanks guys I can build myself a boxfort now.
All you people who are saying that x=x isn't true are fucking morons.
People like you are the ones that make up this bullshit to try to "be a rebel" and convince people what is ABSOLUTE is false.
X=X is true and anyone who says otherwise is nimrod fucktard who doesn't know what he is talking about.

Depends on what kind of x = x yu are trying to convey. 1 + 1 = 2 is true but Life on Earth equals life elsewhere is false.
OP is extremely uneducated in terms of aliens, our galaxy, possible life forms, and just how the Universe works in general.
Seriously, what a retarded thread.

Your avatar said Foxassholes.
But, this thread will let me sleep a little easier at night.
Holy fuck!!!
That means they're already here!!!
There is life out there, just we won't find it in our lifetimes.
Which sucks, because ailens would be fun
We could have played monopoly and everything!
You do realize that they most likely can theorectically warp space-time around themselves with the right amount of energy, making "light years" into fractions of a millisecond?
I didn't know that a light year was a measure of time. Thanks for informing me. I could've sworn it was a measure of distance.
If there's no life out there we could each all individually own hundreds of planets.
Carl Sagan died before he could find out that other life in the galaxy would be discovered.
I'm sad now.
