I mean, I get that Bethesda's done questionable shit (especially given the dumbing down of Skyrim and Fallout 4, among other things) and they're also trying to 'subtly' strong-arm modding, but you have to give them credit, in terms of general factors they're no fools when it's come to game quality and publishing. And even if this is a new thing altogether loosely inspired by the original, the fact is that Prey 2 was a giant pipedream that had no idea what the fuck it was really trying to do. It's probably better to get something worthwhile out of an ordeal than to either have a steaming hot turd or get absolutely nothing.
Just show me the portal and gravity stuff and i'll get interested.

The paid mods were valve's idea and Bethesda's done nothing against mods since then. The modding community's more responsible for their own fuck-ups than Bethesda. If you mean the TOS claiming all mods are intellectual property of Bethesda, that's been around since Skyrim, possibly earlier. The entire aggressive buyout thing was never proven true, and sounds more like a story some bitter guy came up with to antagonize Bethesda trying to salvage a trainwreck.
Just show me the portal and gravity stuff and i'll get interested.
Why would seeing the exact same things again be interesting? Tech has moved on we can do way more impressive stuff I'd rather not see a rehash of a fleeting gimmick.
I too think it's weird to call it Prey even if it has nothing to do with Prey, but honestly they could call it "Another Arkane Game" and I'd still be hyped as fuck.
As far as I'm concerned, Arkane's Prey is a different franchise than Human Head's Prey, and it just happens to share a name. You get this from time to time in movies where a movie released today shares a title with some obscure movie from the 70s, and it might as well happen with games.
chris avellone writing sci-fi horror is all i need to get me to buy it

It would be nice if this was more of a soft reboot set in the same universe. That would at least leave the door open for a project based around the story of the original game.
