in connotation, "coexist" implies that they work together and whatnot, often but not limited to being on about the same intellectual level. [editline]25th August 2011[/editline] on the tv show Dinosaurs, humans were there but they coexisted with the dinosaurs much like how wolves do with humans today. we live on the same rock and live in the same time but we don't necessarily go to see a movie or dine with wolves. ~SEGUE~ and i'm pretty sure the pixar movie is going to entail humans interacting with dinosaurs as though they were humans.
childhood... /weeps.
Also, am I the only one who is reminded of Jim Henson's Dinosaurs?
Aw Man! I so miss that show!! I do not remember humans being regular characters on the show, just seldom seen cavemen what M_B said. The only song on that show that stuck in my mind from this show's soundtrack was "slobs with dirty jobs"
and then they all killed themselfs and sent the world into a ice age in the series finale.
Looks like a dreamworks movie IMO
I guess, but at least there is an actual story worthy to be made by Pixar. Also, I didn't see any of this
My god, that hair!
Looks like a dreamworks movie IMO
First glance I thought it was some sequel to How to Train Your Dragon. Dad sounded a lot like Gerard too
Looks like the Pixar team has a little Skyrim and Team Fortress 2 withdrawal.
and a little slapstick addiction

Summer 2013 hnnnggg...
Pixar is nice and all. "ToyStory 1" and "Monsters Co" especially. But shit like "Cars" or "Ratouille" or "Brave," who even watches them if it weren't like for your 5 year old sibling or your kid.
Cars was bad ass and Brave looks freakin' awesome.

You haven't even watched Brave and you're judging it already. Who watches shit like Toy Story? It's about toys for fucks sake, only three year olds should watch it, cause three year olds play with toys! The only reason you'd watch it is because of your three year old sibling or kid. Quit being so narrow minded. If you didn't enjoy it, it doesn't mean other people won't.

True, maybe it's just the nostalgia I've got from the few old Pixar's.
I'm scared for the future of Pixar. Cars was a small speed bump, then we got films like Up and Wall-e which were fantastic. But Cars 2 was a failure, Brave looks okay and it's getting good reviews. But I think it's unanimous that it's not really up to par with Pixar's other movies. Monsters University looks kind of funny. But only time can tell. I myself would have just preferred a totally new movie. I'm starting to think the golden age is over...
Oh... Oh my fucking heart... I just got back from seeing "Brave" at the midnight showing. I can't really express what I'm feeling at the moment, but I know one thing: I am SO underwhelmed... Brave looked to be a sprawling adventure, something newer and darker for Pixar to sink its teeth into. What we got was the most hackneyed script Pixar has ever committed to film. So, you know how Brave's trailers have really been pretty conservative about showing us much of anything from most of the film? Well I'm going to tell you why. This is full-on spoiler alert, so if you care, read no further. This is the big secret of the film: Merida is to be betrothed by her overbearing mother, has a fight with her, and runs away only to be led to the home of a witch, who she convinces to create a spell to "change" her mother, and by extension, her fate. As it turns out, "change" actually means that her mother gets turned into a bear. And given this wasn't what she'd intended to happen, they set off to find out how to reverse the spell before the morning of the second day, upon which her mother will be a bear in body AND mind permanently. Yes. That's really the plot. You guys could probably predict this one in your sleep. Because you've seen this story before, done a thousand times in a thousand ways. It's such a no-surprises plot that I'm nothing less than SHOCKED at how little I found myself invested in the thing. There are sad moments in this movie, but I couldn't bring myself to CARE. I don't hate the characters, but they're just so forgettable. As Pixar's first female lead, Merida is just your typical headstrong free-spirit trying to break the chains of responsibility and shit. She's depicted as a fantastic archer, yes, but nothing ever really comes of it. It felt like Hawkeye barely had any screentime in The Avengers, and in that time they made HIS archery skills feel more fulfilled than Merida's. Now, this isn't to say that the film lacks strong moments or visuals or is by any means BAD. But pit this against ANY other Pixar movie, save the Cars films maybe, and it doesn't belong. This movie feels so Dreamworks that it kills me. I actually think "How to Train Your Dragon" was a better movie than Brave. If you'll remember anything from this movie, you'll remember the terrible triplets who serve as Merida's little brothers. They're great in ever scene they're in. Brave has no lacking in humor, and I guarantee you'll find something to bust out laughing at at one point or another. Pixar still knows a thing or two about comedic timing. They know how to make certain mysterious scenes subtly frightening, and to create tension when you're not sure if Merida's mother is having one of her episodes, where she temporarily takes on the mind of a feral bear and becomes dead-eyed. The animators manage to do a lot of great stuff with the non-verbal nature of certain characters, although we've know they could do this since WALL-E. But what kills me is this: In Up, five minutes of the film had set up a lifelong romance and a tragedy that brought me to tears. Up had me feeling deeply for the characters and once I'd left the theater I felt distinctly richer for seeing it. Brave doesn't manage ANY of this throughout an entire movie. I barely know the names of most of the characters. I just don't feel any strong feelings for these people one way or another. And the worst part of this whole deal? Knowing after the previews that the next Pixar movie is a prequel to Monsters Inc. I HATE seeing that an original, non-sequel Pixar movie has managed to be "good, not great" after two fucking years of sequels, and that on top of it our NEXT movie is yet another "quel" Pixar, what happened to you? Where did the magic go? Is this really the other boot dropping on Disney's purchase of Pixar? Has Disney managed to ruin you at last...?
I could have warned you, if you cared to listen. Remember it only gets worse from here.
So, [sp]instead of Brother Bear it's Mother Bear, am I right?[/sp] Gonna see it anyway, because Pixar.
