There's nothing shameful about being a virgin. Of course, being one myself, my opinion may be a wee bit biased. But to be honest, half my mates are virgins, we're all in our late teens, we get on well with women. When I was doing A levels a couple of mates got laid; talked about it the next day, and they said they didn't feel any bit different or more accomplished.
