You should cut a deal with them to get the car and some cash... Most insurance companies will work with you if you want to do that. That's what my dad and brother have done on occasion.
I'll talk to zach, but from what I'm hearing is the insurance people just want the car for scrap and may not be willing to cut deals. We'll see though, for the sake of seeing the car live again I'd rather you have it then a junk yard.
Polished up dem spark plugs on dat wire wheel and dicked with the radiator and cooling system for a while, but ultimately have come to the conclusion that i probably maybe sorta might have a blown coolant seal. A small one, but a blown one nonetheless. Oh well, guess it's a good thing I've got another engine lined up ready to be built.
Spray-on bed liner for my diamond plate running boards, Black diamond plate makes me moist.
Bought 4 new tires for my CRX(YEAHHHH). Then proceeded to go to autozone and when I tried to leave the car wouldn't start it was acting as if the ecu was shot and the battery was shorted. Since being stuck in autozones parking lot I had them charge my battery. While waiting for the battery it started raining and my window was stuck down so I had to ask for some tape and trash bags (power windows suck) Afterwards it started back up and I went on my way, found out my alternator is dying because when I disconnect the battery it misfires and stumbles. Oh well that's what happens when you drive a beater.
ogod how do i turn i am not good with car
lol that reminds me of last summer. my daily is a 81 toyota pickup 4wd. no power steering. no a/c.
but i had been working 6 day weeks and not driving any other of my cars ( except the truck)for well over two months. i hopped in my se camry i had. i jerked the wheel, the way i do in my truck to turn it around. but the car had power steering, so all the effort i put in to turn the wheel was in vain as my head bounced off the window.
Posting for Zotic
He's repainted his valve cover and intake manifold and he's going to refurbish a G60 top with new seals, lifters and everything with a new exhaust manifold.

Also he says cheers to you all
He's not doing so great but he's trying to keep his spirit up
First time replacing head gaskets. Got the supercharger off and am working on the accessories (got the alternator off, power steering pump has a bolt hidden somewhere). So far, it's not really that hard, it's just taking a long time to do it. Maybe I'll have some pictures when I'm finished.

They don't fit perfect, but for the car not being fitted with them from the factory, instead being off of a Toyota fucking Camry, and for 7 bucks, i think they look pretty nice.
IT LIVES. Finished everything.
Started it, WOT=700rpm barely with loud BRAP BRAP BRAP, felt like it ran on 3 cylinders instead of 6.
check timing: 120 post-tdc
fix timing then it ran all good except for some leaks that I fixed and massives air leaks that I'm almost done fixing. I'm almost good to drive it

Not exactly me, but, was time for fresh decals this afternoon.

lightly spray brake or carb cleaner on the suspect spots. If the engine note changes you've found the leak.

It isn't. I've done it, turned out just fine. Just make sure you label every hose and wire you disconnect.
Oh, and if it's got a dizzy, don't stand above the intake. nine times out of ten it's off a tooth or two and you get a fireball.
I'm taking a lot of pictures of everything I disconnect, and then I'm putting the parts that I take off in order on a tarp.
Was planning to work on it today and get the Power steering pump off and the A/C unit off. From there I'd be able to start working the rest of the intake off. Unfortunately, today has been such a shitty day (weather-wise) and I don't feel like working in the cold.
The post is a bit late, but here's what I found under the back end of my dad's '84 F150.

In my professional opinion I would say the rear brakes, and brace yourselves I'm gonna use a technical term here, are FUBAR. Going to need more than just new brake lines to fix this shit.
Not pictured: The rear metal brake line was jimmied by a previous owner. The rubber line that runs from the metal line on the frame to the metal line on the axle had let go, so they extended the line on the frame out, stuck in random bits of rubber and metal line, and just jerry rigged it. That shit is leaking. The front brakes aren't six kinds of fubar like the backs, but they're going to get a full service too. Turn the rotors, new wheel bearings, new pads, maybe even new calipers even though the ones there are good. Front brake lines are fine. We will also be rebuilding the rear wheel cylinders. Obv new shoes are required as the old ones are quite literally coming apart at the seams, and we're not even going to attempt to have those drums turned, just flat replacing them. Brand new ones are $45/piece, not that expensive.
Lots of brake work left to be done. My dad's still got my '85 for now.
I'm taking a lot of pictures of everything I disconnect, and then I'm putting the parts that I take off in order on a tarp.
That works too. As long as you know what goes where you'll be fine.

Shit, I have that happen all the time. I waited three months to change my ball joints because of a random cold snap. They were predicting several 65 degree days after the day I bought them. Got them home, woke up, it's ten F out and snow flurries abound.
