My dad, me, and our mechanic Mike saw this kid and his friend pitching rocks at a homeless guy. I went inside, but my dad went over and confronted them. He pushed my dad, my dad pushed him, and then he sucker punched my dad in the mouth. All because my dad wanted them to stop throwing rocks at a mentally handicapped homeless man.
The nerve of some people.

Hope your dad is pressing charges. Thats two counts of assault tight there. Hope he gets what he deserves anyways.

I usually listen to music while I drive as it brings consistently better lap times.
This time I was listening to :

Start the video with the music at about 0:24
More to the point : a question!
Should I include the music with the video in the first place?

to be honest that is not really a DIY related to the car world.
it's a vidya game, there's a thread for general media in the game section
was doing the brakes on one of the vans, the driver of which neglected to tell us that there was an ungodly grinding coming from "the wheel somewhere, idk."
Sadly, i didn't get a picture of the rotor, which was trash.

Rated win, just for the sheer death of that poor pad, may it rust in pieces.
Pad? What pad?
And yeah, these drivers are fucking stupid. Shit like this doesn't even surprise me anymore. When we get a car that didn't go out because it needed brakes, it wasn't because they were squealing from the wear indicators, it was because they fucking locked up because it's metal to metal like this one, and they couldn't care less. When we need to repair a flat, we can't patch it, we need to put a whole new tire AND rim on it because they drove it for two miles on a flat before realizing what was going on.
This is daily shit for me :/
That really sucks, they sound like an ultra concentrated version of the Albuquerque driver.
-snip-
Forgot to mention, when the car starts over heating, they don't call it in but instead continue driving the vehicle for the rest of the day with the needle buried in fucking melting-red-hot-zone. And then when they finally do bring it in for the day, "Oh and there's probably something you should look at, it got just a little bit hot, dunno what that's about." Meanwhile, with the car idling, i lean in to look at the temp and see it like that and basically have to force their hand to turn the fucking car off because they don't know what they're doing wrong. We've already had to replace 6 engines in the handful of months I've been working there because they've been destroyed by some stupid mishap on the drivers part. One of which going 80 MPH on the freeway, flooring it, and purposefully downshifting into second and just shredding the fucking engine. That was the first engine I'd ever done; Not a very good experience.
Jesus, they're worse than the average ABQ driver then, I didn't know that was even possible.
They shouldn't be allowed to drive cars
I fucking hate taxis.
Just replaced the front speakers in my xsara picasso, Amazingly all the original holes lined up. All I needed to do was put some spade connectors on (I used scotchlocks to preserve the original citroen connectors).

Here's the general state of the old ones:

They all have scratchy voice coils. Eugh.
Cheap speakers, quality wasn't really a priority, replacement of speakers with fried voice coils that could potentially short circuit the amplifier was. Even so, they still sound better than the stock speakers.
I've left the stock citroen tweeters in for now, when the rear speakers come in the post I'll do them too. The rears are going from 5.25" without any midrange drivers to 6.5" with a full mid+tweeter "cluster".
I fucking hate taxis.
my rolla have scars from stupid taxis.
I was stuck in traffic in montréal (litteraly 0kmh for everyone, JAMMED traffic, something common here). Then the idiot in the right lane decided he needed to change lane even though there was cars all around and nobody was moving (stuck in traffic huh) but he fucking proceed to change lane to the left into my rear right quarter, scratching the paint and making some dents. I get out of my car full of anger and prepare to get his informatio for insurance.
first thing he does: lower his window and tell me: give me 200$ and we are all good my friend.
I was speechless, THAT FUCKING FUCKER RAM ME, THEN ASK ME FOR 200$ BUCKS?
also he was arab (because all taxis in montréal are minorities for some reasons) but I'm not applying the stereotype (Except for the fact that he tried to scam me real good and didn't want me to get the cops involved, I should of have since he was a taxi and it's mandatory in QC)
Yay and such

Oh shiny! wazzit fer?
The Civic, of course. I ended up having to go with a half radiator since the turbo manifold wouldn't allow me to flip my turbo around, so instead of doing it with a shit-ass stock half rad from a EG/EK or teg, I ordered a tig'd aluminum unit.
Well I got my new replacement mirror today, and it looks damn good.
Old mirror:

What's he dying from? :/
Dang, sorry to hear about that Scientwist.
Didn't work on my car today, but yesterday I did a grounding kit. It goes: Negative on battery>Driver's side strut tower>Engine block>Alternator>Intake manifold>Passenger side strut tower. I might do the heads at some point, but I need shorter bolts. The ones I have now are too long for the holes there.
So far, I've noticed a bit smoother power band.
I noticed an INSANE difference while running the A/C. Before it sucked away so much power from the motor that I would turn it off at stop signs and such so I could take off better. Now I notice a little power loss, but not nearly as bad as before. It was well worth the ~$20 (20 feet of wire (It was the cheapest/easiest way to buy it) two packs of end connectors, 4 packs of bolts (I wasn't sure if I needed M6 or M8 bolts so I got two packs of each,) and a tool (can't think of the name.. it's the one that can cut wires, strip wires, and crimp things.)
Installed my new mirror. This was WAY easier then the last one I had to install, which was on my 88' Vic. Best $30 purchase I have made so far.

Speaking of mirror's, I also replaced the glass in my mirror a few days ago. It's been 6 months since I've had a non-cracked mirror.
I'm glad I could replace just the glass. I didn't want to have to buy a new rally pig vinyl for it
Got corner lights

Also got my ECU basemap in today, went ahead and chucked it into the ECU. I'm so glad I opted in for the launch control, it's fun to peg it at the two-step and just rip on it.
There was almost an inch of slack in my car's drive-by-wire throttle cable, meaning I was never hitting full throttle, not even close.
Feels much better now I've re-tensioned it, I left a tiny bit of slack so it can return to idle easy. It's like the engine magically got more powerful. :v:
Deer decided to play Russian roulette with my car on the way home from the store today. We hit at about 35mph and sent the deer into a flip. Poor thing limped away but wasn't looking very good. As for my car, could have been worse. Damage is limited to the passenger fender. My bumper mount was broken before the indecent.

Glad Germany builds there cars like tanks. There arent any hard creases in the metal so I'm going to take the fender off and see if it cant be popped back. If not then I'll just have to source a new fender. I'm so tired of
sourcing car parts.
What's he dying from? :/
His liver is failing, hes admitted at the hospital right now. I still haven't been able to find out just how bad he is but from what I can tell, it's not looking to good.
EDIT: Went and saw him today, he is doing better then I was lead to believe. He's gonna be sent to a veterans hospital soon so thats good.
No more sad stuff, back to car stuff. GOGOGO!
I passed the afternoon painting stuff on my car, fixing rust, and temporary patching up my rusted and perforated rockers...
The two picture I took...

It's not perfect, but it's hard to patch up a hole like this with basic things. But hey, I'm happy, I fixed my two holes on the rocker (This one is front, the rear one was done too), a patched spot is better than a rusty hole.
