What are you dr5iving in the mean time?
Hitching rides with whomever i can. Parents, mostly my grandmother because she works at the same place i do, but only 4 out of the 5 days of the week.
Got to see a nifty collectable car today. I edit this with the name once I can remember the dagum name...
Decided to go NA only with my 86, today's technology should let me get enough power without a turbo. [sp]I may get a tiny turbo WAYYYYYYYYY later[/sp] Now that I have choices the real question is 4-2-1 exhaust manifold or 4-1...
That's a Nash Metropolitan
Ahh, thats right thank you. Trying to remember was driving me nuts.
Guys, I'm trying. I'm trying real hard. Not to spend all of my money. But then this parts car comes up. A running, driving car. With a 2JZ and 5 speed. For just short of all my cash. I really want it. I really want to taste the 2JZ in my Celica. It's pretty much everything I need short of mounts and driveshaft. Something needs to stop me before I buy this. I need to save this money.
Welp, got my 240, thanks to my parents and their generosity. It's on the driveway and first thing I did was clean the crud out of it. Busted out the vacuum and just scooped up everything. All the crap inside. Broken carpet and mats. Spare tire, a fucking chunk of wood to hold up the driver's seat. Need to figure out how to completely remove rear seats. I vacuumed dead insects, tons of dust and ashes. There's a surprising amount of coins everywhere. Leaves and tree debris. Previous owner looks like he neglected it somewhat. Caked on dust and sand in the carpets UGH. My tinkering for tomorrow. The steering wheel is rusted and falling apart so. The car definitely has personality. The previous owner was an avid surfer so there was beach sand everywhere! I found like goodbye notes from a supposed love interest. Coin jar fulla pennies, a congresswoman photograph, car shop quotes, receipts from all over California.

I picked up my perfectly balanced engine today! I finally get to put it in and have that first turnover. Hnnnnnnnnnnng.
That's a Nash Metropolitan
Parents used to be friends with a guy who still had his mint green one. Bought it new if I remember right. When he died, instead of giving us the car, he gave us his dog. Fuck you Stumpy. [editline]18th May 2012[/editline] Oh and I just got done painting my block with my bro. Shits so clean.

He also used to have a Nash Ambassador. I liked that car when I was a kid because it was like a space ship. [editline]19th May 2012[/editline] Good luck with the MR2, guys.

I slammed the spoiler down on it. When my dad saw all the stuff I ripped and tore out, he told me to put it all back on. I said that's how it's supposed to be. So much sand again and some surface rusts, nothing serious. Had a bit of trouble ripping off the cardboard and carpeting. Smells like cigarettes. Vacuumed everywhere and put baking soda all over everything. Smell went away. Guy was avid surfer, looks like he always just threw his soaking surfboard in the trunk. Rubber moulding worn and crunchy. Found a water bottle with water stuck inside the paneling in the back wonder how long it was there.
Damn, If I found that recluse I would never touch my car again.
Yeah fuck that, Now I'm going to make sure my spoilers are solid from now on.

have graduation party today, may wire my new headunit later, friends dad gave me a free working sony Xplod that plays cassettes! :D
Nice refreshing coolant drink. Mechanic overfilled the coolant reservoir. It's way above the maximum limit and whenever I start the car it starts peeing it out the water pump. Its ok now Gauge cluster is pretty messed up. Something is wrong with either the fuse or the wiring. What time is it?
[t]http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/2882/wp000788.jpg[/t] Reminds me of the odometer on my car Edit The weird thing is, it works perfectly when it's about 10 degrees below freezing. That picture was after i drove home from my friend's house in the middle of a freezing night. This is what it looked like when i first started my car though [t]http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/5288/wp000787f.jpg[/t]
That looks like you may have a short somewhere. The speedometer is getting full voltage which is why its pegged. Probably a short somewhere between it and the clock. On another note got the crank in the 3S block today and assembled the pistons and rods. Those c-clips are a pain in the ass to work with.
That looks like you may have a short somewhere. The speedometer is getting full voltage which is why its pegged. Probably a short somewhere between it and the clock.
Good insight. The previous owner haphazardly wired the new stereo unit in. I don't know what he did with the electrical system but there's wires everywhere. I have no idea how to wire at all so I might just get my mechanic to look at it. It can be as simple as blown fuses or as complicated as cut wires or a short somewhere. My interior lights don't work like the trunk light and dome light as well as the glove box light so there's something messing with it.
Looks like VSS and the clock is just wonky. If your water pump was leaking it's going to leak again. Your coolant reservoir can't be "too full", if it's over the max, it will eventually puke it out the vent hole and not harm the engine. If the water pump was seeping out of the weep hole, you need to replace that water pump.
i've done terrible things

I have to get the fuses changed soon see if that fixes the electrical problems
Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
yes I'm going to 1jz that bitch. Compression was good across the board (190psi with a few drops of oil in the cylinders) Trying to source a ECU, igniter and a unbroken map sensor in my area. Then I will be wasting my evenings and weekends doing the harness conversion. Then going to make my wallet bleed buying swap parts from CALI. and hopefully, it would be running mid-june (I want this to happen)
I need a sweet swap for my celica. What are you paying for your 1JZ?
