That sounds fun. Grab car, tow to safety. (Repeat for a 12hr shift)
Sounds like good money too.
Dude, I don't even do the driving. I'm there helping out a close friend of mine and believe me, he needs it as bad as shit is. He's also been backup for nearly all of New Port Richey, Port Richey, Trinity ect. 30 cars so far and just the ones I've helped with, all drowned and insurance is gonna call em' all totaled. It's sad because so many were really nice cars....

And assembled:

Gotta get a new black stripe of tape and it's pretty much done.
Also the red color I put on the fender didn't quite match but it doesn't bother me when it is in such an unnoticed place :v:
Also the chrome trim on the air intake is something I found in another Beetle just across the road which I have been allowed to take parts from... so I took that. Gonna take a sun visor out of it tomorrow since the one I have in my Beetle on the drivers side has seized up. The one I'm gonna take tomorrow is really fucking moldy but I think it'll clean up well with some strong soap that we have here.

The black paint looks rough because I used a brush and this:

Edberg, IMO you should get a light weight flywheel and if you can, port polish and balanced crank/cam shafts. Awesome power but the revs seems a hair sluggish. That might just be me though.
Stuff I need to do to swap:
-change the waterpump (Hydrofan to USDM 2jzgte)(gotta remove the crank pulley/damper and timing belt for that, what a assfucking shitty thing that is)
-Rebuild the R154 with new bearings all around (because everything else is in specs...)
-install motor mounts and various bit on the engine while it is on a stand
-Wait for my Stainless 3" divorced Ypipe and downpipe, then install it while the engine is on the stand.
-check all the vacuum and fix them (making sure everything is alright because some of them goes into weird ass place unreachable with the engine in the bay)
-take care of the fusebox/alt wiring
-install flywheel
-install trans/clutch on the engine
-put the god damn bitch in
-wire the body plugs to the engine plugs/ecu
-install new IC/piping
-install new downpipe
-hook up the HKS SSQV (not in the pics) that I got
-Hook up my old safc II
-modify the fuel line
-install rad
-fill with fluid
-rage over electrical mess making things shit themselves because of the amount of shit I had to do to swap (electrical wise)
IMAGES ARE BOKREN FFS
Heli coil to the rescue bolt hole fixed, waiting for some metal mender to dry up, then putting the water outlet back on, refilling the coolant, reattaching the serpentine belt, and putting the cooling fan back on, then seeing if this bitch is done overheating.
And then my brothers gonna take some sikk HD camura pictures of me doing a burnout in my comanche :D
[editline]28th June 2012[/editline]
Also changed the oil/filter on my aunts civic today.
and found it hits 60 alot faster if you ratchet shift it and only use 1st and 2nd gear instead of WOT in D.
I feel like its kinda bad for the tranny though no?

flywheel is already done, shifting with a camera is hard so i was letting the revs hang a bit with the throttle
all internals are stock so I won't really be going in there unless i'm swapping a shortblock, considering my mileage i don't know when that will be :v
Curtains arrived today for the BMW. Spent a good hour carefully reading and re-reading the instructions so I was 100% on what goes where and when and how. As per instructions, I disinfected and primed the curtain rail surface (with supplied materials), peeled off the sticky back on the rails, stuck it down and... nothing. Absolutely no cohesion to the surface and now the sticky backing has almost no 'stick' at all. So it looks like I have to forgo priming the surface, scrape all of the sticky material off the curtain rails and buy something locally to make it work.
Where is a gun, I'm going to kill someone.

Aunts civic pre oil change
I'm either getting used to the s-l-o-w or running synthetic has made it run a bit better (seems a bit peppier)

Yeah, I can see that making a difference, I listened again for reference though. On another note, it sounds like your powerband has best torque between ~4750rpms to just about redline. Though again, I could just be hearing things. :v:
I put in all the new carpets in the Bee-
No wait, I didn't because it started raining alot just when I started working on that ;_;

Wait. Eeeww. It's a DSM radio! Mitsubishi!
DSM != Mitsubishi
That doesn't look like any DSM radio I've ever seen. It's kind of similar to the 2ga tape deck but everything's in the wrong spot. Looks like an older unit though.
Changed the waterpump on my 1jz... you gotta take apart 2/3 of the engine, what a pita
now I'm going to remove the front turbo to change the y pipe... striped studs/bolts here I come -_-
Bringing this over from the Photos thread:
Dad bought a Camaro.
2002, 3.8 V6 auto.
54k miles IIRC
Needs fair amount of work:
Tail light
EVAP work
headlight is in weird
paint touch up/rust spot fixing
tires
brake work
steering wheel/column
Misc interior pieces
Got it for $3500, KBB puts lowest value at $7k
(This is where we bought it. Bonus, our Powerstroke behind it)
We left it at our mechanic last night. Today they put on new tires, did an alignment, and figured out what's going on with the steering column. Apparently just needs some bolts to get it on right

How do you like yours?
I've never driven one and have never really liked them to be honest. My dad wanted something to use on the road (does welding in Nuclear plants. Last job was in Florida) that would be reliable and decent on gas. His friend had a '98 Firebird 3.8 manual that he really liked. He wanted one, but couldn't find one in decent shape for a decent price

Did you get the housing on again and it started leaking on you? Double check the line that screws into the head to the left of the housing, and then SUPER DOUBLE ULTRA check your thermostat housing for cracks. EVERY thermostat I've put on a 4.0 has been the result of a cracked housing, they are super cheap to replace too ($25 for a brand new cast aluminum one at Autozone IIRC).
naw naw naw, over pressures or something and all comes out the overflow tank. Flushed it with water, all the hoses are STIFF, before they had alot of play in them with the engine running.
Tomorrow a new lower rad hose goes on, fill it with coolant, and hopefully enjoy my loud ass pickup truck again c:
[editline]28th June 2012[/editline]
went to change the filter on the civic
almost every screw looks like this

gonna drill them out and then get some drywall screws in there lol.
Shouldn't have so much pressure in the cooling system... Shouldn't be over-pressuring ever. Only time I have seen over-pressurized cooling systems is with blown head gaskets, with coolant being pushed out of the system from combustion being pushed out of the cylinder into a coolant jacket around it.
Only does it after i shut the truck off though..???

My dad bought it for $3500 because he wanted to sell it for $4000 to make a little profit. I've never actually liked the cars, in certain forms they are pretty cool such as all blacked out and low but this car is just a base model. I've only driven it once and its like riding a skateboard, I dislike how long the dash is. Pulls OK for a V6 and does a pretty good 1 wheel peel.
Spent all day doing shit for my gf and her 240. Registration, random maintenance. Really amazing what the correct, brand new spark plugs can do for an engine. Find out her's is overheating too; broken water pump, nice. Spent all day tinkering with her cassette car stereo, I want to use it as a toilet bowl
I bought me a Impact air gun. Next is a Torque wrench (with digital readout if they make those)

Crap this is DIY...........
I painted wheels. from platsi-dip. to Plasti-dip.
Before
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1031910/Audi/2012-06-24 08.22.24.jpg[/t]
No one say anything about the plasti-dip. I need to get a sandblaster/walnutblaster and remove EVERY DROP OF PAINT off these tires. (Plasti dip is a short term fix)
Yes some jackass painted the silver wheels gold. and another jackass painted them plati-dip black. BACK TO SILVER IN A FEW MONTHS (Or a nice powder black)
Hey, don't hate on no plasti dip. My wheels look nice and I dipped them 4 months ago. And shiet, I just noticed how much polish I managed to smear on my nose trim. I need to wipe that off.
