You engine bay looks pretty clean! I was expecting worse because of the problems you've been having.
Usually boat anchors have two cams shiban WHAT GIVES
Why did you buy a single cam boat anchor
you'r getting jipped for one cam and an SR20

Thats quite the cooked O2 censor you got there from the looks of things.
So I may need to rebuild the oil pump on the Civic, I keep getting low oil pressure at the correct idle speed, so I've idled it up for now, will probably redo the oil pump this weekend.
[editline]6th July 2012[/editline]
Scratch that, went to my dad's place and picked up my Celica. Looks like the Civic is parked again.
Mayb'e I'll just say fuck it and get a B~ for it and boost it to shit... We'll see.
Not today, but yesterday I did my first ever maintenance on my car :v:
Changed all the spark plugs, changed the chocolate brown transmission fluid, and changed the engine oil. All I have to do now is fix whatever is causing my stereo to reset every 20 minutes

Mine does this too. It's most likely faulty/shoddy installation. Mine was the incorrect ground point.

Lots of cracked hoses and rusty outlets. Halfway done somewhat
Well I flipped my motor mount 90* on my car and my friend's car :v:
Cleaned the carb for the super beetle in hope that it runs better now. I made a mistake and took out the mixture screw, and I don't know if it's set as before.
Any way to know if it's too lean/rich without taking a spark plug out?

Not sure if it holds for a beetle's carb(s), but If you screw it in all the way, make a small mark with a permanent marker on the screw and one on the carb body. Turn it out 2 1/2 turns using the mark as a guide and you [i]should[/i] roughly have a good mix.
One way to tell is to listen to the RPMs. The faster it picks up revs the leaner it is and if going toward too rich, revs will have a bit of initial lag when given the gas.
It's basically what I did on my Catalina, which has two mix screws. (Rochester 2bbl Carb)
[editline]7th July 2012[/editline]
Also, why would you need to take out a spark plug for that? Check the plug for teltail signs or something?
If you say "smell the gas" or "to see gas/fuel/fumes/ect in the cylinder" I'll eat my shoes with mayo...
No no, depending on what color the spark plug is you can know how the mixture is.
If it's right it should be chocolate colored, black is too rich and white is too lean.
Washed the truck, and did this, out of boredom.

Derp, oh yeah, forgot about that method, again. Hence my hacky method.
Sometimes I wonder how I remember anything....
Found what's wrong with the R154
1st gear thrust washer broke in half (when I launched at the track) thus leaving the second shift forks the job of retaining the gears assy in place, 2nd gear rubbed agaisnt the fork, leaving a fine dust of aluminium to wreck havok in the bearings, resulting in multiple severely damaged bearings.
so a 25$ part failed, leading to a 350~450$ rebuild and retarding my swap by 2 weeks...
Doesn't sound like you have too many good experiences with the drag strip.
Speaking of drag strips I went to the rocky mountain nationals by me Friday and today. My dads car broke a valve spring and messed up the head gasket which could lead to a bunch of different problems. There was jet cars, top fuel dragsters (the best part imo, shakes the whole place) and funny cars, and even a drag race between grave digger and a teenage mutant ninja turtles truck. Only thing I hated was that it was flippin hot out, +32* C, mom got burnt pretty bad.
going again tomorrow with my cousin.
The only time I've had a bad time at the strip is when Jap took his B17 swapped CRX.
The whole run went good, but on the way home at ~4AM his half shaft spit out of the tranny, I had no tools with us, and just a spool of thick gauge wire. So I popped it in there, and wired it up to the intake manifold, and we let her rip. I only had to have him stop to pop it back in twice on the way home, and it was about 15 miles away.
It sucked, but we've been through worse.

wasn't so bad
I managed to do 13.69 on 4.5 cylinders (front four cyl had excellent compression, the 5th had 110 and the 6th had 25psi) and a almost seized trans. I'd say that is pretty good
Bolted together the 360 and A727 that are going in my Chrysler sometime this year.
I'm wondering what to do about the throttle and kickdown linkages, I may have to bite the bullet and spend $150 on the full Lokar aftermarket setup. It costs money, but it's the right way to do it I guess.
Yay, another mopar man. What's it going into, anything different you done with it or is it all stock?
[editline]8th July 2012[/editline]
Where did you get a small block a727 from, most common one is the 904.

EXTREM DANGER
Exhaust is now off the cobra,
starter is off,
All the transmission's wiring is out of the way,
and the transmission is go to come out Thursday. I have plans with friends for Saturday to get the engine ready to pull. Its coming along fast now that Im motivated. Ever since I quit smoking, my dad has been nothing but help with the car. Plus, I got a raise at work today, it'll be even faster that the car comes together now.
Came across a thread on one of the BMW forums where someone is in the process of replacing their aging headliner with a Suede alternative. Having seen how it looks on theirs, there is no way in hell I am NOT going to do it. I have the slightest little sag starting at the back of mine which I plan to 3M-spray back in place, but if anything else starts to go in the near future, I'm going grey-suede... God it looks good.

When I bought my last bimmer the PO had done the same thing to the interior. It was pretty sweet. Red suede on the A/C pillars and black for the decklid.
