Tomorrow I'm going to put putting a rebuilt distributor on my roomie's Wagovan. The dizzy that was on it has a bad ignitor and the one currently on it has temperamental ignitor causing sporadic bucking. So now we have three and, and the one that should work best was wired wrong by a shop mechanic. So much for those with certs...
certs aint shit
Guys that have certifications generally have them because they didn't know shit about cars and wanted people to think they did. I'm sure I could do more than 90% of ASE certified mechanics. Maybe even more. Most of those guys are dicks. Not all of them, some of them are straight up guys, but man I hate how cocky they can be.
Oh man, the guy who owns the shop is cool but he had one of his employees do the work to the car. That guy is a piece of work, every time I talk about mechanic stuff he scowls at me like I'm cursed or a leper... I hate it, but I know I'm better at this stuff then he is. 15 friends with no car problems speaks for it's self.
Honda distributors are easy as shit, why does that even take a shop? Just get a diagram and put everything where it needs to go. Also, clean the igniter and points off with sand paper or something of the such. Works like a charm. Clean the rotor too while you are at it, same thing. They get corroded very easily on all older hondas. Also, Wagovans are the fucking best.
Pics of this wagovan?
Edit: What no automerge Hmm... Still got some trimming to do. And to put on my new fender... Making a new intercooler mount bracket tomorrow because I've realised that one is crooked as shit. Haha. Hmm...
too pink

I asked for the other 2 dizzys and built one good from the two. I'm not really sure where the points are, if there are any as I've read alot that the points were done away with when ignitors were introduced. It's got a new cap and a cleaned rotor as of today, and that dizzy is now in there. It still has a small amount of buck but not as bad, and I think its due to there being no speedo cable and thus the VSS can't do its job. I'm just speculating here but I'm now at a loss for what is still causing the engine to "rev limit" when it shouldn't.
Pics of this wagovan?
Once I get some batteries for my camera, I'll snap some. It's not a pretty wagovan and needs a bit of work, but shes a toughie. Also and ex room mate spray painted a lone stripe on the hood on the passenger side... it's kinda ridiculous.
too pink
It's red bro. Out of focus ftl...

Lol i scraped barnacles off of my grandads cat boat and took the keel off of his old cat boat. I smell me making a boat's thread sense boats are automobiley enough ey?
Yeah, go for it. I love boats, just don't know much about them.
yeah just a darker shade of spraycan paint
Dollar can of paint Only comes in one shade If I wanted to be picky the good paint (Like I did Japfeiffer's car with) was $4 a can. But I only had $10 to spend. The rest of my money went to a new T3 manifold with external wastegate.
Has anyone heard of or more precisely know where I can buy Nissan New Grey paint or even better Valspar Nissan New Grey paint? I swear to god I've searched everywhere but cannot find it
Put my new cast manifold on today, need a longer oil line. Drove my dad's truck home. Long ass day.
Changed the clutch on my vibe today with an ACT. The old one was slipping real bad. Took me three days because the rings on the end of the cv axles were stuck in the transaxle. Took one day to figure out that I needed a slide hammer to get them out, then needed grease to put in the CV's to clean out the old junk. Luckily they weren't the ball bearing type, and are the crappy tri-ring style - but that means the ball bearings didn't all come apart when the axle came out of the can. It was a big pain in the ass. I like doing this on RWD cars. FWD is totally a pain.
When changing the clutch on my Civics or CRXs, I just yank the motor. Much easier than pulling the front suspension apart, the axles, three mounts and tranny. Just the front motor mount, all the plugs, three bolts on the ehaust flange, and the bellhousing bolts. Nowhere near as easy on most other FWD cars. Of course this is me running without A/C, power steering, etc.

This car required the whole undercarriage to be dismantled, one of the engine mounts was under the CAT and could not be removed from the car it seemed, it was all unbolted but I couldn't get it out. Then the CV joints were stuck, took hours to get the flywheel turned because the shop doing it had other crap I guess. Getting it out took 2 1/2 days. Putting everything back took me 3 hours. It was a real pain. Must be Toyota engineering junk. Hondas are like legos, everything just stacks and comes apart super easy. Even their engines.
