I had a 1997 Taurus and I rolled that shit. Just got some glass cuts in my arm, Tauruses are safe cars, they just look like poo.
I was in it too. Didn't even get a scratch on me, just scared the shit out of me.
Impact was at ~60mph into some 5" diameter steel poles, ripped the poles out fo the ground and rolled the car. Was a pretty chill night.
Guy with red hat is Jap, the one with the ass is his mom.
Made a small list of stuff that I know of atm:
Stuff that takes time:
Gasket change (Must be done before I can drive it)
Central locking system fix
Exhaust system assembly (Should really be done before I can drive it on the road at least)
Stuff that doesn't take forever:
Fix front left window lift
Fix the mounting bracket for the rear bumper
Fix hole in radiator
Cosmetics:
Paintjob
New grille
Hey, that Taurus looks just like the one I'm working on!
Except green, and it wasn't rolled it just looks like it was -.- My sister is terrible on cars.

Did she jump out of a 40 foot tree onto it? Cuz that's some nasty damage there. :clint:
I think my timing chain is starting to rattle a little (called the death rattle on this motor) on cold starts and at stop lights at times. It may be a loose heat shield, but I'll have to check. If it's the chain, then I would need to replace the guides, which I would definitely swap out the chains as well. I can pull the valve covers to check the first few guides but (dumb question) I would probably need to pull the whole thing to check the main guide... right?
I thought the same thing, but I've read up on a few of the issue's people have have with the motor and the guides tend to crack into several pieces and cause the chain(s) to rattle. Hell, I haven't even checked the heat shields yet.
Bought some shit

People that have change clutches themselves:
did you use an alignment tool or did you just eye ball it?

Alignment tool. Always. They give you them with the pack generally, and a clutch that isn't aligned will fuck you over.
Anyways, worked on my CRX today. It's dieing, and it's making me sad. It never gave me a problem because I took care of it, but the guy I sold it to is just beating the shit out of it. Hopefully I can buy it back and fix the poor thing when he finishes it off.
When you say it's dieing, what exactly do you mean? Rings, bearings, gaskets or something of the like?
It's got 170k and he treats it like shit.
Today it ate the distributor and shit it out. Tomorrow it will probably throw a rod.

I eyeball it, don't tighten it down all the way (just enough to hold it in place) then work it onto the tranny, tighten down the pressure plate from the starter hole later.
I don't usually have the alignment tool handy.

Probably different for Hondas but on DSM's the starter is like under the intake manifold so I dunno if I'll be able to reach it. The guy at the auto parts store suggested a broom stick. lol

This is how for I got tonight. Took all the engine bay shit out, IC piping, battery, etc, removed the downpipe, transfer case and starter. All that's left is the axles, mounts and I'm having a couple buds come over tomorrow and we'll drop it.
Transfer case:

I wish my garage was that pimp.

Well you have to remember, in my Honda it was easier to pull the motor rather than tranny to put in a new clutch. So my intake manifold would have been out of the way anyways.
But regardless, the starter is located on the top of the tranny, in a really easy spot to reach if you pop of the airbox piping/CAI and just look straight down.
By the way, love your talon. Owned a lot of 1g DSMs but my heart has always been in the 2g's. Never could afford a good one, I won't settle with a 420A. S'all good though, Driving this little turbo'd CRX I sacrifice speed and sheer beauty for reliability, gas mileage, and cheap repair costs. I think it's a fair trade.
"worked" on finding a car :v:
put putty on the passenger door because it's shitty and dented
did a shitty job needs more coats
and once monday comes and i go to my brother's shop to get him to do the control arm bushing shits i'll be able to put the suspension back together and i should have a bunch of bolts by tuesday and then i can put the rear axle and the front subframe+engine+tranny back in.
[editline]26th March 2011[/editline]

Hard at work.

Exedy stock clutch still looking pretty good. Almost a shame I took it out looking like this but I don't think it would have lasted a day with the new turbo.
