Oh, and with the style 95s, did you have to use spacers? If I have to drill them or use spacers I'm not getting them.
Nah no spacers needed. The 95's come from the E65, which has the same center bore, offset and PCD as the E38's did. Mine 95's are 18" replicas though so I DID need to put hub-centric rings on mine... If you get proper wheels, the bore will be the same 72.56mm as on the E38's, but if you get any kind of replica it'll be a 74mm bore and you'll just need a set of hub centric rings to adapt it perfectly. Refer to the chart for the details;

Also, if for any reason you get some new wheels and they're a 74mm bore, please don't get ANY other spigots than these;

I can't recommend them enough, they're widely used in the E38 community for aftermarket wheels as they've got the perfect flange plus they're a solid aluminium instead of shitty plastic ;)
Replaced thermostat housing - I no longer need to worry about the Cressida spitting out coolant.

I replaced the thermostat housing on a Renault Kangoo yesterday...
It's not as easy as it sounds like:

What did I do today? Well pissed off my mom and got into a shitfest. Was working on GF's car to find mom cleaning my room for me. I just hate it when people move my stuff around regardless of family, it just irks me the wrong way because I leave stuff lying around with a mental note attached to it. If they are moved it just pisses me off. She vacuumed earrings and bolts that had lots of sentimental value etc.
I'm just a dick today. I don't know why. Going on with the tune up of GF's S13. PCV hose fixed with new one. Replaced valve cover gasket, 2 stripped threads yay. Let's see how far I get tomorrow morning
What in thy gods name is this foul thing...
It took me four fucking hours because the hose clamps were so incredibly hard to get off. Tight as shit under the hood of a Kangoo

I don't need no stinkin' trunk. (quick release terminals for the AutoX though, CCA guys flip when they see that thing in my trunk)

Update:
So far what Ive fixed
CV axles
Thermostat
Plugs & Wires
Cap and rotor
Water temp sensor
Air filter
What still needs replacement:
Water pump(?)
Brake Master cylinder (have it)
Front passenger turn signal housing
AC pump (seized, not important atm)
TPS (just failed tonight)
I also need to flush the coolant system as the prior owner used 100% antifreeze and fucking clogged it with god knows what else. I'm afraid that it's stop leak, the bane of all engines. The turn signal FELL APART when I went to change the light that had burnt out.... wtF...
Tomorrow, if it's not cold as fuck I'm gonna try and get the master cylinder replaced. I don't have a vice so I'll "bench bleed" it on the car then proceed to waste a ton of brake fluid bleeding the system.
What have I done....
I finally dealt with my speedometer gear nightmare today, no more taking the dash apart for a LONG time.
Debating whether to pull the trigger on a fat Addco sway bar. $200 is a lot of money, but I can't find any police spec sway bars left for my car, and autocross season starts in Febuary. Even if I found a cop bar and bought it and had it shipped here, after prep and paint any other work I'm already barking up the $200 Addco price.
I changed out the fuel pump on my truck and now the engine won't start.
It's getting gas but it's not starting.
:suicide:
Did it fire up properly before you changed it? Like what made you change the fuel pump? :v:
Did it fire up properly before you changed it? Like what made you change the fuel pump? :v:
Yeah it ran before I changed it.
The old fuel pump was leaking.
You hear a small buzz when you turn the key, right? I'm not sure how quiet your car is but it sounds like a loud static noise when I turn on old Benz. If it's running as you say it is, then are you sure none of the fuel-lines are blocked? I haven't done any other work on old Benz's fuel pump, other than adding that Shell fuel stabilizer-like thing which just made the fuel pump spool up a bit faster.

It's a 1967 F-100 with a 352
It's a mechanical fuel pump and the truck isn't very quiet either :v:
Said fuck it and ordered my sway bar. Fuck off body roll.
The Civic breathed new life in the form of a B18 motor/B16 trans swap today. I still have to finish the shift linkage but it moved under its own power and I was able to idle it for a minute. Tomorrow I have to finish tightening everything, do my shift linkage, and put the radiator in. Then it should be good to go.
Been too long without wheels. It sucks.
Well today I decided that I wanted to figure out why the accord over heats so bad so fast and from what I can tell, something is clogged/blocked.
I got a flush kit and flushed the fuck out of it. First, antifreeze in tiny amounts came out, then nasty rusty looking water came out then clean. Which is weird because if it weren't blocked it would have all mixed and been nasty and as far as I know water pumps don't just stop pushing water, they leak from the seals.
So in testing, i forced water into the rad after unhooking one of the heater core hoses. Again nasty then clean water but when I tried to force water into the disconnected hose it just sprayed me. That shouldn't have happened because that hose is after the thermostat.
Sound like a clog to you?
Worked on cleaning this thing.

Trying to sell it now.
It's complete but doesn't run, and I don't have the title.
It books for $2600. I put it up for $1500. Does that sound like a fair price, or should I go higher? This car is rare as fuck here, as far as I know
If it doesn't have the title, nobody is going to want to go through the work to attempt to get one.
Plus, it doesn't run.
$500 OBO

The title is fairly easy to get if it is needed.
Even if I didnt help who i sold it to, I could write a bill of sale and they could file for a lost title and transfer it. If its used as a parts car, its not even necassary.
The car was running when parked by the previous owner, supposedly shouldnt take much to get it running.
In this area, $500 is what youd pay for a car with 300k miles, no/blown engine, no/bad transmission, no title, etc. This is also southern, so no rust
If it were up to me i would take the time to clean the snot out of it and get it running, if it looks nice and it runs good then there is 2 reasons to slap a $1000-$1500 price tag on it, how BAD do you want it gone?
I would at least take the time to get the damn title for it. No excuse not to.
Got the new turbo back in the MR2 yesterday. Ran into an exhaust manifold stud that has stripped the threads in the head so we had to re-tap that one to a size bigger, but it worked out OK. Gonna get the rest of the intake back on it today and fire it back up.
Oil seal on the exhaust side of the turbo was the main culprit for the failure. All the turbine fins were still there but the shaft play was ridiculous. Oh well, cant wait to see the difference between the CT26 and the CT20b.

Unless the title is in your name or you performed a repair/storage on the vehicle via the original titleholder's request, you cannot use a bill of sale to get a title. Generally you have to file some paperwork and wait about 30-60 days, and hope that the previous owner or any lienholder doesn't care about the car anymore, otherwise they can take immediate possession of the car and you'll be shit out of luck anyways.
Here, we have to do a process called Title 42 (Form 752) to recover lost titles when they aren't in our name and we didn't buy the car from the titleholder. It's a pain in the ass.
[editline]24th December 2012[/editline]
If the title was previously in your name though, a notarized bill of sale can be used to pick up a new title at any DMV/Tag Office.

The original owner went to jail and told his mother to have us just come and pick up the car, i think she even paid the owner of the garage to go get it.
We have contact with the owner, theyve said to take it and do whatever we want with it.
Ive heard it isnt too hard to do the lost title process in NC, it just takes time
60% complete with tune up. At this point most of the general maintenance replacements have been taken care of. The tedious work is for the process of re-assembly.
Just need to put together the cooling system and the belts and it's testing time. If anything the head gasket's shot but meh
Stock cooler wasn't good enough
So TWO stock coolerz

I am going to buy the lines for them on the 27th
